Can you rotate a turbos intake and exaust housings reletive to each other? For instance, if I have a turbo that the intake outlet faces the same way as the exaust inlet, can I rotate them so it faces the other way, or do they have to be in a certain orientation? The bolt pattern looks symetrical...so I was wondering.

You can rotate the housings however you want as far ar the turbo is concerned. You may have to watch the turbine side as there maybe issues depending on what type of discharge pipe and wastegate is being used.
