N2O setup possibilities

Would it be possible to setup a 50-75-100 hp shot without retarding the timing? If you used an second fuel tank and had your electric pump feeding from it to you injection plate. Then you could run 104 or 107 octane fuel in you second tank to cut down on detonaton. Or even Alcohol, methonol, nitomethane or something like that. This way I would not have to drive with retarded timing all the time haha... I know I could get a ignition that could retard timing when I hit the juice but I dont have one yet so I'm exploring other possibilites and am just plain courious too.

I've already done it and it works fine.

note, you cannot use methanol unless your fuel system is corrosion resistant (not aluminum).

You will have to go with very high octane of over 110 for it to work. The amount of fuel supplied by your NOS system will be a small amount of the total fuel injested by the engine. You low octane fuel will dilute the high octane due to this ratio.
I did still run a retard on mine because my cylinder pressures were very high.

So maybe a bottle of octane booster that is supposed to treat a whole tank of gas could be mixed with 1-3 gallons or so to give you a real hi octane rating. Like 120 or so?

It doesn't work that way. You are lucky to gain 3-4 points with an octain booster even when very large quanities are used. You wouldn't get even close to 100 octain. Even Sunoco Maximal™ only has 116 pump octain rating. If this would work Pro Stockers would be doing it instead of buying this "high rent" gas.

You could set up a separate fuel system & run race gas in it but it wouldn't be any cheaper than getting a nitous timing retard.

Sounds like I will have to live with the current setup and just invest in a better ignition system down the road. Thanks for all the input.

he's right it doesn't work that way. Don't even try to run octane booster like that.

you will need to use something like CAM-2 racing fuel of 112 or higher for the cell.
