I have a few questions on the effects to the powerband from supercharging

My questions are based on using a TPI with ported plenum, large tube runners, and larger base, all on say a stock motor.

I know that the tpi suffers in the high rpm range, how does supercharging help out in the upper rpm ranges?

How about low range rpm?

How about with fuel econ and all around daily driving?

Emmisions?

If a person is running at say 8psi boost, is it always running at 8psi, or is that the max it gets to under WOT?

Thanks

If any of these questions are answered in a article somewhere, could ya point me at it?

Thanks again
Steve

I have a vortec on mine and run 14psi
but if i had a larger pulley i could drop
it to 8 psi and then that would be the max
at WOT.
as for drive abilaty it will allways
be drivable just depends on how much boost
and gas grade the more boost the more
octain.

What kind of supercharger?

I am not sure, just started looking into superchargers. Basically I am looking at the general case scenario.

there are several different types of superchargers out there. They work very differently and produce very different results. There's a book called 'street supercharging' that would be good info for you and probably answer all your questions and more.
I can't really give you a good answer without knowing which type of supercharger.

I have the street super charger book, It seems to be more for the carb 144 b&m type of blower (roots style).

centrifugal superchargers are not a good match at all for a long runner TPI system.

The boost curve is a square relationship so that most of the boost is only in the high rpms. A roots blower is linear, so you'll have more boost down low where the TPI doesn't choke it.

So wouldn't it be better to "force" in air at the upper RPM's when the intake is not keeping up with the demand??

Sure, if your goal is high rpm power. IMHO, why fight it? Toss on a super/mini/ramjet on there first and pick up that extra 50 hp.
