i tend to run 10w30 synthetic, i have had a problem with my oil turning to capaccino; i was told to change to 20w50 what should i do and what do you guys use?
l just thought about my last post, capaccino is a lightish brown lm assuming, not like a coffee color but lighter...... well thats not so good, that could very well mean that theres water in the oil. and somethings terribly wrong. on the other hand, it could be that you may be running just a little bit rich, maybe you have a low bottle pressure on your nitrous and your running way more fuel than nitrous either way, its not really good news.
the bottle pressure was believed to be low, but rich is way better than lean right.......anyway; what would be the best oil to stick with, they want me to put 20-50...i'd rather stay with 10-30......
and bob quit trying to scare me......it's working!

I am not trying to scare you. the next time you got the track pull the filler caps of 10 cars that run the jug. none of them are going to look like crapachino. that is a sign of water in the oil. when it goes through the pump it mixes them up like a margarita in a blender. this turns it to foam & if driven long enough & it gets bad enough (that takes a long time BTW), it can actually cavitate the pump. that positive displacement pump is designed to pump liquid not foam.

Oh yea, to rich is better than to lean, but there are always limits. if you are pouring gas down the holes (mostly on carbs with stuck floats) you can wash down the cyls. this is when the gas is liquid it washes the oil off of the walls. this in turn robs it of the lubrication that lubes the sleeves of the pistons & creates heat & hot spots on the pistons. this is not likely in an EFI car but is possible.

added 15w50 today, synthetic....everythings seemed to be ok...not sure why but i didn't have the same problem........found out my bottle was almost pure air, sat for over 7 months; not sure why this happend though!
had it refilled and the bottle still seems to only have air; at least when i purge(it's clear and not white so i am sure
)
if my head gasket was blown; it would still have probs with the new oil right!
and why is it that my bottle only seems to fill with air...could it be the shops fault?

Had that happen to a friend of mine last year. The ******** who refilled the bottle didn't know enough to check if his bottle was empty. At $50.00 a pop you'd think that they'd check. Especially since they had to give my buddy a free refill.
