305 header/supercharger combo?

I'm in the process of getting my car ready for a blower. Currently, I want to get a pair of headers (either 3/4 or 5/8) from SLP. Will the 3/4 be too much for a stock 305 tpi? It might be a while before I get the blower. I posted this in the exhaust forum and everyone seemed to point me towards the 5/8 headers. Thanks.

if your planning on getting a blower, its really a toss up- i think that probably, you would still be better off with the 1/ 5/8 headers... they will keep you low end torque around.

the 305 just doesnt breath enough to use the 3/4 headers in my opinion.

Steve, let's go for a ride in my supercharged 305 with SLP 1-3/4" headers. I'll show you that my MAF maxes out at 255 g/s at only 3,000 rpm's!! How's that for airflow? I can only assume the exhaust is also flowing proportionately.

I honestly cannot tell you if I've lost any low-end torque because of my ~3,800 flash stall Vigilante converter. It's fairly loose and therefore the engine always seems to rev above 2,000 rpm's, even under slight acceleration.
