IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A VORTECH SUPERCHARGER WITH I THINK 6-8 PSI AND USE A ATI 2 CORE INERCOOLER AND HAS ANYONE INSTALLED ONE ON A TRANS AM....WOULD A D-1 OR D-1SC WITH 12 PSI WORK ON A STOCK L98 TPI WITH 63,000 MILES OR IS THAT TOO MUCH FOR A STOCK ENGINE???????

 

well being that i've installed both an ATI on both a camaro and GTA and installed a vortech....the intercooler system *might* work. First you would need to rotate the compressor housing on the vortech to face the driver side fender, it memory serves me correct that would put the outlet down low while facing the fender.

then you'd have to install the intercooler system and then you would just have to connect it to the blower with some custom ducting because the vortech blower sits closer to the engine than the ATI one does

 

That is what I did. Unfortunately, you can not turn the outlet since it hits the bracket. You can send it in and have the blower exchanged for the outlet that faces the firewall. I ordered 2 silcone molded 90's and will tie the 3" 90 by the horns in somehow. I am still in the process of doing that. I put the intercooler in in one day, it was no real problems. I modified the kit to accomodate the RAM air set up and charcoal canister. It looks great!
