turbo size???

I got a turbo off of a 7.3L ford diesel (not a powerstroke) the turbo says garrett and has a .70 on it. It looks kinda small, only has a 2in outlet on the compressor side.
Will it feed a 355 to make 500rwp.??

You're damn right it will! That engine is the predecessor to the power stroke. It's a turbo IDI(indirect injection). All of those kits came from a guy out in Utah, I forget the name. That was right before they started making electronic direct injection turbo diesels. For more turbo info check out www.turbofast.com.au/ and www.egarrett.com.

The AR of that turbo is on the very small size for the turbine. In a well designed single turbo system for a 350 you will see from .96 AR up. This turbo would support some power level below 500, I think, but the exhaust backpressure will be high. You have to balance boost against backprssure with a turbo. Think about getting a correctly sized turbine housing(about $200) for it. That is all about the turbine housing & wheel and nothing about the compressor, since I dont know what size it is I cant say?
