At 9.75:1 Compression Ration and Aluminum heads I would like to run a D-1SC for 10psi with 3 core intercooler with my DFI. However, since I'm getting my rotating assembly balance I could cut the pistons to lower my compression then I could run a Supercharger with a good amount of boost. I have all forged internals the very best name brands 4340 Crank, JE pistons, Oliver Rods, 4 bolt main 383 stroker with 195 AFR Fully ported 2.05/1.6 Race heads and a Miniram. So Should I go for 600 h.p with Supercharger or 450 N/A?

i would think nothing of running 10 pounds of boost on your combo with that cr and aluminum heads you will be fine as long as your fuel supply is up to the task and you loose a lottle timimg up top so it dosent detonate.

dont mill the tops of the pistons to lower the compression.. running pistons with with a small (forgot the term..) thickness on the top is asking for it

If you cut the pistons too thin you can easily crack them or burn a whole in them when you start putting added cylinder pressure and heat to them.

You should be OK at 10 PSI intercooled. Have you asked ATI yet? I bet they will say the same thing. Look at this example. A friend of mine built a 420 SBC. It has a 10:1 compression ratio. On the dyno, they were stuffing 7 PSI down its throat (No intercooler, carbureted, 28 degreee TOTAL timing) and it didnt detonate. Mind you his motor has AFR 220cc heads on it.

My vote is that you'll be OK.

PS... You better have a damn good fuel system or else!
