Would Turbos/Supercharger cause problems in a stock V6?

I'm wondering if Twin Turbos or a Supercharger would cause any problems if installed in a factory V6. It would be installed either in a 3.1 L, 3.4 L, or a 3.8 L. I haven't made up my mind on which one I will be swapping out with my stock 2.8 L. Would there have to be any modifications made in the engine?

I am working on a turbo install on my car now. go with the 3.4 motor, trans will bolt up, look up KED85 in the v6 forum for the do's/don'ts in this swap.

You can pretty much turbocharge any vehicle so long as you know what it's limitations are. The weakest link in the 2.8/3.1/3.4 line are the pistons followed by the rods. A boost of no more than 8psi is fine and you may get a way with a little more if you elimnate detonation by addding an intercooler +water injection. You may need to raise the injector rate a bit and install a rising rate fuel pressure regulator to detect the added boost which will push more fuel thru the inj. It is very imortant that you buy a Air/Fuel ratio gauge to monitor or else your engine could explode if the mixture is too lean.

A tubo from some of those T-bird fords would work fine like a garret T25 for example. If you want to run twins, you may have to modify the MAF (if your car uses one) to be used as a blow thru device instead of draw thru. Some here say they could not see any difference in putting it before or after the turbo so I couldn't say but the MAF was intended to be used drawing.
I'm presently building up a 3.4L for turboing in the 20psi range. The internals have to be changed to allow for this much boost plus some additional fuel mangement. It's expensive work but very cool and different, I might add. I expect to be in the 450+ HP range when all is said and done.
