How often do you get your *** handed to you by an LG4? Probably never... So...
What sort of internal work would I need to do before dumping a supercharger on top of my engine? Is it a ridiculous goal to shoot for 400 Hp+ with an LG4?
How much would it cost (if any of you have done this)?
It just entertains me to think of doing this... I definitely want to use a 305 when I do build the proverbial engine, since it's not that common to go all out on a 305.
I'm mostly looking to make a firebird that can pull the front wheels off the ground... That thought also entertains me. I'm having waaay too much fun here.

Well, you could get a weiand miniblower or a whipple-charger and bolt that on. To make that work, you need a new cam and heads. Then, you have a built 305 that will last for ??? It's not really an LG4 then. What makes the LG4 is having the worst cam in the world, crappy heads, a lousy intake, and a cc q-jet and cc distibutor. So, you can build the 305, but it won't be an LG4 anymore.

LOL I figured as much... it is the cam that makes the LG4 the modern marvel it is hehe. I've already fixed the problem with intake, distributer and carb...
What is the life expectancy for a supercharged engine?
I know there's those SC'd 6's in the chryslers, what boost would an OEM SC'd car use?

I have an old back issue of pop hot rodding where they put a paxton or vortec on a 305, will look for it & give you #'s. I think it was a TPI setup, will check.
