350 supercharger bost and de-compress

350 supercharger bost and de-compress
how much bost can you put in a stck 350 someone told me that if you put a super charger on with out decompressing the engion you will blow it up, is that true how much bost can you run befor you need to decompress, also what do you all need to decompress it

On a STOCK 350 (9.3:1 compression) you can safely run 6#'s of non-intercooled boost and 10#'s of intercooled boost without any problems,(if engine is in good working condition)...
To lower the engine compression ratio, you can either change the pistons to a dished style, put on a bigger chamber cylinder head, or put in really thick head gaskets.
