Can a 400 SBC be built to reliably handle a Power Adder?

I have a chance to get a hold of a 400 SBC bare block "Virgin" never been bored out and if I decide to buy I'm going all out with either a D-1SC or at the least a 150hp shot. I like to build an engine to handle the rigors of daily driving and strip action although more like racing in between

So my question if its possible then at what cost? Plan B is a Bill Mitchell assembled 427 Short block for 4600.

Just seeing if theres any 400 out there running a power adder and would like their thoughts

my bosses nova goes 8.80s with a 2 bolt factory 400 block with a fogger and splayed 4 bolt caps with water filled jackets

with a blower.....the hp limit goes down because of all the pressure you are constantly giving it, for blowers your limit is about 10.0

I have a 2-bolt block that is now splayed with billet caps also, but the water jackets are not filled. Although its not my daily transportation,I drive it pretty often.Right now I`m spraying 150 and so far so good.Factory blocks have thin cylinder walls which is where the trouble lies.I know of 1 400 which swallowed 15# of boost and ended up with a cracked cylinder wall.IMO,if you`ve got the coin to consider the Bill Miller peice, do it!!The Motown is far superior to any production 400 block even at 427ci
