Turbos have me intrigued...
ok, I am sold on twin turbos, it just sounds badass. I want to learn how it can be done though, and would I be better off with a vortech blower. I have heard that you can use turbos off of old tbirds, and get them for hella cheap, but I also have heard that turbos are too complicated to mees with in a f body. any suggestions, prices, combos, anything?
oh yeah, here's what I got. a 1991 rs with a tbi 355. the cam specs are: lift: 420/443 dur@.050: 252/262 built as hell 700r4 with a cyclone valve body and a corvette servo whatever, performer TBI intake, "882" heads, stock exhaust manifolds, and 9:1 compression. will I have to lose the TBI?
This might sound harsh - but get off of your butt and do some research. There's tons of info on this board alone about turbos. Get Maximum Boost by Corky Bell -- full of good info and it doesn't require caffeine pills to make it through the book. I seriously doubt that anyone on here will take the time to answer a question as general as yours. When you get down to the details -- we'd be glad to help.
Yes you will have to lose the TBI IMO, I'm sure t can be made to work but it's not worth it IMO. My advice would be to retrofit TPI or a stand alone port fuel injection if you can afford it, or go with a blow through carb, which will suffice, but the fuel injection will be a lot more driveable IMO. I agree with reading Corky Bell's book, lots of good info. If you have the time and dedication for a turbo build it will be a good bit faster than a Vortech blower. The cam will probably work, but one with a little less duration would probably be better and spool faster. I would suggest some good heads to make great power on low boost.

It not a big problem to supercharge a TBI engine. It is no more difficult than a TPI. They work great in a 'blow through' system, just like with carbs. You only have to modify the TBI by drilling two small holes from the underside of the TBI to the throttle shaft. One hole on each side if the bore.
I supercharged my Cross-Fire and it is working great!
