More power from 350

I just had my 350 rebulit not to long ago, its was a stock rebuilt so it has factory rods, pistons ect. I was wondering if i put a 100 or 150 shot or a s/c on it will my motor hold up?

it'll hold up for quite some time as long as your fuel and timing/ignition hold up to the task

Yea i was going to get a new fuel pump, headers and a new ignition system before i get one. What do you think would be better spray or s/c?

more of a personal preference.
you want it all the time, or just sometimes?

$2500 upfront, more gas cost all the time, weekend install. 100HP or so addon

or

$700 upfront, no more gas cost unless you're using it, $20 each time you want to use it for 10 seconds. (lets say). Anywhere from 50hp-200HP available. You'd still have to use the N2O long enough to blow the motor apart, before you equal the cost of the blower though.

Not really. Add another $300 up front and install water mix injection. Run 87 octane and spray water mix when boosted.

Cost of N2O per use will depend on how big of a shot you use. If you really like the extra HP then S/C is cheaper in the long run. If you don't want the HP a lot of the time, then N2O is the better way to go. When I priced out a good N20 setup it came out to around $1200. 20lb bottle, electric shut-off, gauges, etc. It all depends on how fancy you want to get with it. My cheapo N20 priced setup was in the $600 range.

Most people go with N2O. It is hard to beat in terms of time and money spent.

I mean a SC will guzzle more gas all the time, compared to a N2O setup, which will act like a normal car, until you hit the go button.

And yea, all kinds of flavors of N2O setups.... basic to full on $$$..

Again, not true. The S/C will provide extra air. It is up to the system design to use that extra air or not.

ok fine, I was generalizing. *Usually* a supercharged engine will suck back more gas, then the same engine NA. In theory, on paper, etc, it doesn't have to, but in practice, studies show, that people with supercharged cars, get 36% less fuel mileage on average.
Also, 77% of studies contain useless statistics

I dont really care about gas. If i did i would be driving a honda I think i'll start with a cheap N20 setup and go from there. Always wanted to do a TT setup but thats $$$$.

In practice it’s been tested and most blowers use very little power at part throttle with the bypass open, to the tune of a fraction of a HP which would be an unmeasurable difference in gas mileage, and in some cases the SC could improve efficiency when rolling into the throttle which in the end would result in the same or possibly even slightly better mileage with the same driving (of course, at WOT with your foot through the firewall the addition of the blower allows you to do driving that you couldn’t do without it that would be a different case…)
