tt 305

i know it's been done a coupld of times but i'm looking for definite answers.
what 350 heads should i use and what cam should i use, where can i find a set of matching turbos, is it worth running maf tpi or should i switch to sd, can i take a set of sbc truck manifolds and flip them to mount the turbos?
and most importantly, do i need to run an intercooler or if i have ramair will the air be cool enough? and lastly how would i run oil lines?

i know these are a lot of questions but when i search everyone has different answers
thanks

the reason every one gives a different answer is because the possibilities are nearly infinite. I'll just tell you what I wish I did with my TT350.

I don't really know, I though about it once than made custom headers

intercoolers are great to have. I can drive around for a while then feel the hot and cold sides of the intercoolers and feel at least a 20 degreeF difference

to the oilpan is the best bet, the the fp blockoff then the valve covers

It depends on how deep you want to get into ECM tuning. If you do, then go with the SD because it is more adjustable and better documented. If you don't, search for user 89JYturbo. Copy his setup. It has proven to work well.

and most importantly
It is possible. Check out 89JYturbo's manifolds. They are they most straight forward way to build manifolds. He used stock TPI manifolds.

I do not have an intercooler in my turbo car (the IC is still sitting in the garage). The intake air temps are at about 100*F when driving around. They climb to 140*F sitting in traffic. I did one run with 7 PSI of boost after sitting and they climbed to 190*F (sky high). You don't need an IC but you would be better of with one. I built my setup without one so I could get it up and running and tuned. I have the IC waiting to go in........I need it.
Also, I have boxes that seal off engine heat from the air cleaners and get fresh air from in front of the tires (4"x4" hole at the bottom of the wheel wells).

Everyone does it different so you will get answers that vary. The best thing to do is read as much as you can and weed out the bad info. It all depends on what fits bests for you application.

200 cc runners are huge for a 305 unless he’s building a race car…

Again, way too big and totally inappropriate for a turbo

Looking back at my post, you're right. Those would be better for larger displacement like a 383. I should have said that I would have gone a little bigger on the cam in my 350. I've seen boost at 1200rpm just playing around.

I got out my cam card and it doesn't have overlap, but I think it is 42*@.004" and 14*@.050. That is if overlap is the part when the intake opens while the exaust is still open. The cam card says for mild turbocharging, thats what gave me the idea back in 2003 to turbo my car.

I don't see a 112 anywhere on the card either, thats what was writen next to it in the magazine.

-14* at .050…, but I still don’t like those numbers, maybe reverse the intake and exhaust so you have a 216/204. 111-114 LSA will work fine, I would choose the LSA based on the power band characteristics you want and compression/fuel/boot that you’re running
