Are twin Eatons loud?

I'm thinking about putting a couple of M90's on a built up 400 chevy i'm doing. This is going into my 62 Chevy II that's going to be my semi play car. My question is, are the twin eatons really that loud? I plan on driving the car quite a bit during the summer and don't want to listen to a extremely loud whine.

Thanks,
Jeramie

YES! I had a single eaton on my 305 and it was beyond loud. It was loud enough that it was hard to have a conversation with the person next to you. I can only imagine what two eatons would sound like.

just make sure that your exhaust is loud enough to drown out the whine.

What is it that makes them so loud. My friend has a GTP and you can barely hear the supercharger. Are they loud because they were ported or just because they are off of their original engine. My goal is to do the power tour in 08' while getting 20 mpg. I'm shooting for running 11's in the quarter with room to grow. I thought about going twin turbo but with the tight engine compartment of the II and having to make my own headers have kinda got me thinkin. I think twin superchargers would have wow factor at a car show.

Thanks,
Jeramie

Couldnt you do some kind of LS1 setup? I rode in my buddy's 2001 Corvette Z06 and we got 30 miles to the gallon on a trip. Car runs 12.5 in the quarter. Has extremely good driveability. The powerband is from idle to 6.5k.

Twin Eaton's sound awesome. Yes, there were loud. I think the noise was from the belts and then at RPM the air intakes. Oh, did I mention the sound is awesome?! No sneaking around with those.

RBob.
