Ok guys, I'm asking this for a friend. He has a stock 1988 IROC with a WC T5, and a TPI 305. He wants to fo a Single turbo setup. Could anyone tell me exctly what turbo would fit it, wil LS1 injectors work, and does anybody have pics of their cars with this setup? THANKS!!! If you feel theres somethin I missed, go ahead and mention it.

Ol' Blue from this site has a single turbo, a T-60, in fact he's going twins and I'm buying his header/exhaust fabs and turbo-ing my forged 355. Yes, you'll need bigger injectors, he's running 24lb/hrs right now. As for pics, I'll try to find one and post it up in a bit.

Yup I'm actually running a T61....it seems to be a perfect matchup for a stock 305tpi....I am running 24lb ford racing injectors @ 43psi fuel pressure....at 7psi with quite a few problems my 305tpi ran 13.6 @ 105....I actually dont have any recent pics of it. just the ghetto rigged pics with a nice dryer hose intake...which is all gone now.....TPI CHIPS burnt me a chip for my boosted 305...it was $150 shipped I do believe....I'll have some numbers for the car @ 15psi this thursday.
If he can wait I may be selling my injectors, turbo, wastegate and the 305 turbo chip within the next couple months....I may be going to a twin setup.

im the guy he asked the question for and i was just wondering is it safe to run a single turbo on a stock 305 tpi? i know they have 9.5:1 compression. also is it a real big deal to build your own and could it be done for around 700bucks?

Lower boost shouldnt be a problem...I've been beating on my 305 pretty hard lol at 7psi it did pretty good....at 15psi reliability dropped a bit but its just little things. $700 is a pretty tight budget....but any thing is possible.....I'd probly want around $500 for my turbo, wastegate, injectors, burnt chip......which is a steal.

Obviously everything is still on my car but I should be taking it off sometime in October...I'll shoot you a PM when I remove it. I'm actually going to try and run at the track tomorrow shooting for 12s on a 305....Then I will be working on a twin setup w/70mm turbos....
