twin turbo seriously...

Is there any "decent" twin turbo kits out, honestly? When I saw the ss autochrome one, i was like wow, this is amazing, then i came here, saw the replies to it, and it completely changed my mind. Now I'm wondering if there is any other kits out there that are decent.

btw I have an 85 carbuerated trans am with a 305. My dad was telling me that there were universal small block turbo kits, but I have yet to find any.

Can someone please help me locate one?

also... I have searched the forums but I couldnt find anything related to my car...

Re: twin turbo seriously...

ok so can you guys hook me up with one, i thought the bbs ones went out of business or stopped making them... I suppose I could make my own kit, but it would be so much easier just to get the parts as a kit...

Re: twin turbo seriously...

Your old man is probably refering to the draw through Accel turbo kits they made back in the day, sort of an antique by today's standards but if you can find one it'd work.

I think the direction I'd go is getting a set of "block hugger" headers or the 'vette TPI headers and flipping them, then plumbing in the turbos that way. It's been done a few times with a fairly high degree of success.

Re: twin turbo seriously...

alright, say i order the kit from ss auto chrome, but went out got my own headers, and lets just say that the turbos it came with were decently working. What else would i need to make the turbo kit work? Im guessing intercooler piping, exhuast piping, and something that will run up from the intercooler to the carb, if this kit even works with a carb engine, which i doubt it does...

Re: twin turbo seriously...

i ordered pacesetter headers for a 97 truck cut the ends off and redid them to bolt my turbos on. turbos arent cheap it is cheaper in my oppinion to get a supercharger. if you are in a budget i am into mine alot of money and still shoving more into it. if i get a chance i will take a pic of my headers.

Re: twin turbo seriously...

a MP t-70 is PLENTY of turbo for a 305, and it only costs about 550 brand new, get the materials to make you're own headers, a $100 ebay IC, and some lines and you can make out with just as much, or less than a supercharger.
