NOS use
I just bought a 86 Trans Am with a 305 , TPI and 700R4. It only has 47,000 KM's on it. My question is will this motor take a 100 shot of NOS ? It is a street car but I want a little extra at the track. Thanks

Well I guess a NOS kit will be finding its way in my car very soon. Thanks for the info.

Cold Fusion is good stuff, Dyno Tune isn't. I'de definetly go for the Cold Fusion kit even over NOS and I own mostly NOS equipment. Cold Fusion solenoids have big passages even in there small solenoids. There are also several brands that offer lifetime warranties on there solenoids which is great, it saves you the 30 dollar rebuild bill plus the labor when they inevitably start to leak or stick open. As for a 100 shot, it won't hurt a thing and will probably take seven tenths to a second off of your quarter time depending on traction. A 150 shot will help quite a bit more. My car runs a 13.5 on the stock long block 350 TPI, 12.2's on a 175 shot.

Then stay away from Cold Fusion, the solenoids in the dyno tune kits are junk. I've seen 2 dyno tune kits both sets of solenoids started leaking within weeks from there install. These solenoids certainly don't appear to be the same, different orifices and even the bases appear to be made out of a different material. Where'de you hear that they're made by the same people?

Re: NOS use
hmm thats wierd, i've had a dynotune kit and i know a bunch of other people that have had them and had no problems out of them what so ever, and the soenoids have the same SN's..i dont know if they have switched manufacturers to cut cost but the ones that i got (about a year and a half ago) were the same as the cold fusion ones i have..beats me. I would just say got NX and be done with it, there stuff is no doubt the best on the market

Re: NOS use
I was actually comparing the 2 fuel solenoids today and they're definetly different (cold fusion vs. Dyno Tune). I also would say go NX or Compucar and call it a day. You can't beat there warranty. I've heard from a few places that Dyno Tune has no customer service, I've not tried to send any of these solenoids back but I'm going to give it a try soon if they come through for me I'll be sure to post up about it. Until then I still say avoid them, it's a dangerous game when a solenoid breaks.
