My car was originally procharged, I am going to a twin turbo setup. should I keep the fmu and the inline booster pump? or get rid of them both and go with 255gph fuel pump and 60lb injectors? thanks John

later? meaning 255gph and 60lb injectors? The car will be getting an accel dfi gen7 and dyno tuned

60# ok my bad im kind of a newbie to the turbo stuff thanks, I guess I can sell the inline fuel pump and the fmu. How much horsepower will the 255 and the 60# injectors support? should I upgrade the size of the fuel line also? since it was allready hacked for the inline pump.

Allready sold it! Sorry
First I would like to say it is always nice seeing someone trying to go turbo.
Anytime you plan on doing any modifications to a Third Gen I would uprgade the fuel pump. My question is what size turbo's are you going with? What power numbers are you looking to acheive? What does your engine build consist of cam, heads, intake, compression ratio, internal components, etc? In order to tell you what you would need we need to have a better understanding of what your goals and build are.

being built as wee speak, 350 block, 4bolt main, 30 over, 383 eagle crank, eagle H beam rods, keith black pistons, comp custom ground cam for forced induction, patroit 210 cc alluminum heads, compression ratio of 8-1, roller rockers, ported super ram. I will be building the turbo headers from 321 stainless steel from burns stainless. I will be using t-3 t-4 hybrid turbochargers with 98-02 f-body procharger intercoolers, accel dfi gen 7, I am using a t-56 out of a 96 z28 with a spec stage 4 clutch, ls1 alluminum driveshaft with 9bolt with 3.45s. I cant afford a 12 bolt right now. I would like to see 650 to the wheels or more
I plan on having the car dyno tuned also

Are you planning on running the stock tpi intake?

I am using a ported accel super ram
With that setup it's time to start looking at a sump and an A1000, and a -6 return with a -8 feed. Yes, it's a lot of coin but at the same time, you're not playing with a 400hp motor any more, that could make several hundred hp without much trouble at all. The 60s are a good move, and will carry you pretty far. This is not the place to cheap out in your build.

you are going to be pushing the limit on that t-56. I doubt it's strong enough to live under that kind of power for very long. Start thinking about a automatic. Also a 9 inch with a spool would serve you well. good luck on your build.

fuel sump? what is an a1000? I kind of wanted to keep it manual. If the transmission breaks then I will have it rebuilt by t56 rebuilds. thanks guys keep the info comming
I see much bigger problems with the compression ratio and the size of turbos you are planning to run. Those turbo's will be maxed out on a 350. You need to look at some compressor maps and see what woudl work best for your setup. Not trying to knock your build but your parts are not all mathcing up. It is better to have too much turbo and run lower boost than go past the maximum efficiency of your turbos.
Thats how you damage parts. If you want some real help with matching a properly sized turbos you post up on theturboforums.com under the gm section.

A pair of T3/T4 hybrids should be easily enough to get to 650 at the wheels, a GN uses a "hybrid" turbo, and even in a single they can make 500 to the wheels on high boost. Something like a pair of 57 trim compressors or 60-1s with a .63 stage 3 turbines. or if you wanted to be on the cautious side .72 or .84. That being said, I think 210CC heads on a 383 with two turbos trying to make 650 to the wheels may be a bit overkill, unless you're absolutely set on doing it with pump gasoline, perhaps even then.

I am wondering If I should go with a big single turbo instead... like a 67 mm turbo. What would you guys suggest? The engine is allready built and paid for so I can not turn back on that. I didnt start building the turbo kit though. what would you guys suggest It does not matter to me if I use twins or a big single I am not going to cheap out on anything either.

Ok here goes, Since you are up in the ait and not set on either single or twin I would lean towards a twin setup. A single t-67 will run out of steam as well. My friend runs a set up twin t-67's on his 351(I know a ford). With the wastegates open on the lowest boost setting it made 7.3 pounds of boost and spins his 315 drag radials at over 110mph. This can easily turn into a big money project. I would go overboard on the fuel system to be safe and either have your stock fuel tank sumped for duel fuel pumps and upgrade the the fuel lines and rails. Your compression is so low that you really need to build boost to make it fun to drive. I would suggest a/r of .68 to try to spool faster.

How about t-4's with a .70 a/r will that work? Who makes aftermarket fuelrails for the tpi with a super ram? Can I buy an fuel tank that is allready sumped? How do I run duel fuel pumps one in tank and one inline?
Your help is very much appreciated shocker89bird thanks John

Eight 60#/hrs are good for about 700+ FWHP. The 255gph pump is good for about 2,500 FWHP. You probably screwed up and meant 255lph. That would be good for about 550 FWHP under normal use. Overall, a mismatch of parts.Originally Posted by j88l98irocz

What are you bolting on the other end of them? Need more than a single T-67? What is your target FWHP?

I have made up my mind. I want to go with twin t-4's if they will be efficient? should I stick with the 98-02 f-body procharger intercoolers or upgrade to something else? As for the fuel pump what is IPH? I assumed GPH was gallons per hour? I am going to go with 60#hrs.

Post the compressor size for the T4's and your desired FWHP and RPM.Originally Posted by j88l98irocz

Your 255 is LPH...good for 550-600 FWHP maxed. out.
Your injectors will do 700-800 FWHP. Why not match a proper fuel pump to them?
Are the 60#/hrs high-z and going to be controlled by a stock TPI ECM?
Intercoolers, I go with the biggest that will fit. My current rig just had a 24x12x4.5" IC installed that will flow for over 1000 FWHP. That is in a 400 FWHP 305ci truck.

compressor: .70 A/R, IND 52.76mm, EXD 75.46mm, Trim 48.9. I will be using an accel dfi gen 7 for engine management. I would like to see 650 to the wheels or more if possible I guess that is around 750fwhp at around 5500-6200 rpms. thanks for your help.
