Using Ford smog pump as a crankcase vacuum pump

Has anyone heard of this? As I was reading this article, I wondered why I couldn't use a ford pump and simply filter the air entering it. They talk about a 30hp increase. If I got 20 I'd be happy for a relatively simple add-on.

Yep, I actually have a Ford A.I.R. pump I intend on doing this very thing with.

Doing more reading, I see there are some electric ones that would be the easiest. Some mustangs and also a lot GM trucks from 2001+.

All you need is a COALESCING filter ($40) to keep the engine oil out of the pump. Super simple hp!!!!!!!

I can find the coalescing filter (oil removal) but I'm having trouble finding a 1 psi hobbs switch. I guess you dont want the pump running when the motor's at idle.
