before

after

outside the visual difference is basically coated headers and cold side. internally I had the engine freshened because the guy who built it did a shi**y job.

You realize you have some alien looking thing under your hood, lol.
From the front view it reminds me of one of those aliens from well "Aliens".
Looks pretty bad@$$, nice work!

Re: Finally finished
It looks great and I hope it lives a long life. The only thing I question is the mounting position of the coil. It looks like an MSD coil and from memory must be mounted up-right due to the design. Have you checked that it is OK to mount that coil horizontal? Some coils will fail when mounted like that.

thanks for the compliments.
it doesnt hook on the street and yes it sees street driving regularly. Made the trip from the shop to my house (~55 miles) no problem.

Re: Finally finished
thanks! The headers are one-offs by Gene @ Mosmeyer Automotive down here in Poth Texas..lol. Actually, he did all the work on the car, suspension, interior, etc.. not all at once but over time. Carb works fine after the bugs were worked out.

BDR,
Take a look at the thread below. It may apply to the coil you have.

Re: Finally finished
What brand and temp coating is that? The reason I ask is I had my twin turbo system all coated in the silver and it only lasted 6 weeks. took it back had it coated with 3coats and that lasted 10weeks. Whent to a different coater (big name local guy) and he said " we don't even screw with the silver only the black, as black can handle twice the temps".
I don't know what to think but I will be changing all hot side to black.

Looks good.
2fast4u92z,
That silver should have held up just fine. I did kentons Twin Turbo manifolds over 4years ago and he says They still look great.

Re: Finally finished
I always liked turbo setups that look "symmetrical" in the engine bay like yours- no "hunchback of Notre Dame" like with a single centrigfugal blower or single side-mounted turbo. Looks really classy and high-buck. Very very nice install.
I can totally belive it won't hook up on the street! I bet it hits like a sledgehammer.
I've heard good things about CSU blow-though carbs from many people. Looking at one of them for my buddy's 72 Chevelle that he's putting a turbo setup on right now. They ain't cheap, but they seem to know their stuff when it comes to blow-through carbs.

they route under the front crossmember out to dual 3.5" exhaust all the way back. I'll get some pics of the underside soon and post them.

The guy who fabbed up everything and pretty much built the car, thats Gene Mosmeyer.. he's putting together a TT 406 in his RS/SS Camaro.
Re: Finally finished
Really nice looking setup
How many lbs of boost are you running? Which alcohol injection kit are you using?
Four suggestions, skip the water and run straight methanol. The more the better. I run 2 M15 nozzles on my turbo buick, 30+ psi of boost. You will have to re jet accordingly which will be evident on your wideband o2
The other suggestion is to go with a crankcase evac setup since turbo engines develop so much cylinder pressure and consequently push more into the crankcase past the rings.
third suggestion, reduce the length of your coil wire and isolate it from anything metal by at least a half inch. The coil wire should be as short as possible. You are losing a lot of spark energy with the way you have it set up now. I also think there is something to mounting that coil upright that others have mentioned since those things are oil filled if I am not mistaken.
The last suggestion is to keep the rubber side down, that thing probably moves pretty good

2. snow performance stage 2 kit
3. I'll git r dun..someone else mentioned that also and the guy who built it read the thread and will make the change. I didnt know that.
4. i'll be ordering slicks and then some cheap used draglites for the track.

Re: Finally finished
Interesting choice on the downpipe routing, I went out to mine to measure and found that I've got 7 inches or so under the ends of the crossmember where it meets the a-arms. A custom crossmember there could open up another inch or two if someone wanted more room. The lowest point on mine is 5 1/2" under under the bell housing. I was thinking of going over the top past the master cylinder / steering rod with mine but now you gave me another choice. Do you have the exhaust going all the way out the back or just dumping there before the rear end? What kind of mufflers? Hows it sound?

Re: Finally finished
going all the way out past the rear end. Hooker Aerochamber mufflers. The car is very quiet when you start it. Even though I have a roller cam its not real radical. Around 2.5k/3k its a little loud but you can easily carry on a conversation without raising your voice that much.

that car and that engine are just unbelievable, truly awesome job, i wish i had the funds for something like that. what kind of hp is it puttin out??
Re: Finally finished
What are you running for a cam? I saw it was a custom grind. How big are your ring gaps? Did you do anything fancy on the bottom end like oil squirters to the bottoms of the pistons, etc? How high are you reving it?

Re: Finally finished
not a custom grind. its a off the shelf doug herbert solid roller blower grind cam. After I get a chance I'm swapping in a custom turbo grind solid roller from Cam Motion. Nothing fancy on the bottom end other than it being forged. 6500 rpm is my rev limit. I cant remember on the ring gap, I'll have to dig through my notes.

Harwood 4" cowl? How do you like the front end gap on that hood? I have 2 of them now and Harwood claims that gap doesn't exsist. "it's smooth as stock"...
Beautiful car but wow does that hood suck. Not yours specifically, just that hood.
What trans/weight? Looks like a 275/6015 MT radial?
