MAF and PROM questions

MAF and PROM questions

i have a trans am that came stock with a 305 tpi+maf, i put a 350 with LT1 (24#) injectors and bought a "custom" prom for my setup from TPIChips, car runs fine BUT its time to make it faster so im going with a single turbo, i'm not trying to go all out at first just 5-6 psi on a t70 to see how the car does. my question is can i get away with using an adjustable FMU (and a new prom to adjust the timing abit) for now and not have any problems or check engine light due to the MAF?? i will be putting the MAF before the turbo.

Ive also read something about going with the 749 pcm and that its more tunning friendly but is it REALLY necessary for such low boost??
