Paxton SN2000
Will a Paxton SN2000 be a good supercharger for a 406 SBC? I want my car to run mid to low 10 in the 1/4mile. I will be running a forged bottom end, TrickFlow head and a TPiS Mini Ram or a Holley stealth ram intake?

a procharger D1-SC or F1/F1-R would be more fitting to feed a 406 with room to spare....anytime you start to max out a blower or turbo in order to make the desired boost, you're also gonna create a LOT on unwanted/useless heat.

So it would not be a good supercharger for a 406? What if I used a intercooler?

I have a sn2000, It is made to run bout 8lbs on a 305, you will get about 6lbs on a 350, You can not feed a 406 with it. They used to mave a impeller upgrade for it, but they dont make it any more.

So it would not be good for a 406? It would be good for a 305 or a 350?

Re: Paxton SN2000
basically you'll be spinning that paxton to the moon to get any kind of boost thats worth a sh*t on a 406. I don't think you wanna go through all that trouble not to mention expense for 6-8psi on a 406...trust me you're gonna get bored with that real fast. Do it one time, do it right and at the very least get a procharger D1-SC but preferably a F1/F1-R, you'll ALWAYS have enough boost with room to spare on a 406 with an F-series blower.

Re: Paxton SN2000
On a 406 you will be lucky to get 4 psi, not worth the trouble. It is great for a 305, ok for a 350. A botleneck on a 406.

Re: Paxton SN2000
The only SN that really performed great was the VR4. It can move up to 1100 cfm. Good luck finding one now days.
As others said, do it right the first time with room to grow. Procharger.....

Re: Paxton SN2000
The problem with the SN2000 is the low redline on them relative to engine speed (5500 RPM). I have one on a 383, with a custom blower cam and I get 9 lbs of boost out of it.

Re: Paxton SN2000
Go Prcharger D1-SC or better. I did on my 406 and got 13 lbs out of it. I now wish I would have done a F-1R instead.

Re: Paxton SN2000
how about a novi 2000 instead of the SN ser. You can still find them around and from my reading people put down good #'s with them.
