nitrous to stock 350?
hey guys and gals, i was wondering if i were to hook up a nitrous system to my stock 350, what shot can i run? i have a 350, 4 bolt main, edelbrock intake, and 600 cfm carb w spacer, headers rebuilt vacuum advance dizzy. i wanna put a cam in to but sdont kno what specs to go with. any help on these would be great.

I ran a 150 shot on my stock interal TPI. Ran great but I got alot of Tirespin. Haha. I think you could get away with it.

150 shot would be perfectly fine. Just make sure you have plently of fuel pump. The size of the shot really isn't the problem, for the most part, it is when people run lean. That is when the damage happens.

Like the rest of them said 150 max. You should have no problem if you follow the directions, the manufacturers purposly give you bigger fuel jets so you dont lean out (atleast NOS does). Ive only had experience with NOS, ive heard they have a very good tech line if you need help. As for the cam theres alot out there, just depends on where you want your power and how driveable you want it to be.

I think I would upgrade the fuel pump if you are still using the stock one or a stock replacement. I would recommend at least a 90GPH pump. In your case bigger would be better.

if i upgrade the pump and not having nitous running at the time how do i maintain it from flooding my carb? and if i do a pressure regulator do i gotta adjust it everytime i run nitrous?

Get a good fuel regulator.. Quick fuel is my pref... get a gauge on both sides AFTER the regulator and set it to 7 PSI MAX. A carb runs off of 4-7 PSI.
Another thing is if you want a good pump, get a Holley Blue pump and mount it as close to the fuel tank as possible. Dont split the fuel line until its in the engine bay. Mount the pump and regulator as close to a 90* angle as you can (inside the frame works well) or build a bracket out of 4x4 angle.

Its all according to the pump that you get... A Blue pump is a GREAT pusher pump... not so great as a puller (mounting it far away from the tank). But for a Blue, yes mount it close to the tank.
As far as the 7 PSI, yes it will work either way.

yes get a wet kit. retard timing 4 degrees ona 150 kit.
Do not go any higher than 150 unless ur cool about possibly blowing it up. you piston rings arent set from gm to handle a huge shot.
launch on motor then grab the kit in second if auto.
holley blue pump is good for 550fwhp so thats a good one. thats what i have. i also have a dedicated fuel system but you dnt need that.
cam wise get a nitrous cam if you really want to use nitrous and ll. itll be a big increase on motor and even bigger on spray.
if you just want a regular cam thats good for motor and al, get one with a higher lsa not some radical idle its bad on spray

If your going to use the giggle button alot, get a nitrous cam. If not, get a nice street cam... you'll be happy either way I think.
Just to be safe, I dont run over a 125 shot on a stock motor. but thats just me...

ya im not gna use the bottle alot. jus something if i need that "i wanna goooooo". but i really wanna just do 100 shot to be safe. im just kinda worried on my fuel supply. i wanna do the mechanical and a regulator but im not sure if itll handle it

A mechanical pump would not be a wise choice in my opinion. Its not very expencive for an electric pump, and its alot more reliable as far as longevity. A mechanical pump is good for a stock motor, not for one w/ go-go juice.

ummm get a holley blue top and call it a day. mount it under the back driver side passenger area. thats where mine is. like where the fue filter goes

I ran the stock fuel pump on mine for the time that I had the nitrous on the car. I would recomend upgrading however I had no problems with using the stock one.

Yes eliminate the mechanincal all together, run the electric as close to the tank as you can befor the filter. You will need a regulator, alot of times they come with a gauge port so you can tap in at the regulator. You wouldn't need a gauge befor and after the regulator cause all you care about is the psi going into the carb and if you lose fuel pressure you'll know either way. Only reason briman was able to use his stocker is because his engine is FI and came stock with a electric pump. System wise all plate systems are wet, if you wanna get wild you could get a fogger kit. In school we got 490hp out of a 350 using the fogger kit with stock rotating assembly, mild cam, aluminum heads, and msd. About 340 with the plate. Engine baselined at around 250 er so.

it sounds like it only comes with the regulator and a mounting bracket. If you call jegs up they're really helpful on getting you what you need for the project. If you go with a regular rubber fuel hose you can just get a barbed fitting with a 3/8 thred on the other end, clamp it on and you're good to go.

ok guys i called to get a 110gph mech pump and the pump only has two ports. one in and to carb. how do i run the vent line (i think thats what it is) to make the pump work. the part number is sum-2500201 on summitracing.com. thanks guys i wanna get it hooked up and running ur help is appreciated

im gna go with the carter pump since it has all the hookups to leave stock fuel setup alone. i was getting told that i dont need a regulatro and that the pump (pushes only 6.5psi) would be enough for 100 shot. is that correct? i dont wanna blow my motor up

does t have a return system? if you do i dont think it will work. my carter runs on a non return setup. that carter i hav is set for my stand alone fuel system for the spray
