TPI & NOS Q's

ok well i picked up a complete NOS kit for my tpi for cheap. i looked the kit up and it said its for either 100 or 150 shot. i dont really wanna push the 2 bolt block so i wanna run 100 but i dont know how to distinguish the jet sizes because theres no numbers or anything. also will the stock fuel pump be able to support the demands of the shot? its only a mild 350 with 24lb bosch III. any help for the newbie would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

On page 5 there is jetting information.

As for the fuel pump, refer to the manual to the link I sent you. The stock fuel system should be adequate for a 100 shot. I am currently running a 135 shot on my TBI car with the stock fuel system.

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

the jets should have a double digit number near the flare that reads how large the opening is on it. if you have a wet kit dont worry about your fuel injectors they dont fuel the nitrous on the the fuel side of the kit. on the fuel pump note i ran a 150 shot on my stock tbi pump a bunch of times with no issues. the motor can take it as long as your safe with the tune and fueling.

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

ya well i was kind of worried about the 2 bolt bolt to. really just how much itll hold. but there isnt any digits on the jets... either the fuel or the nitrous jets.

Both jegs and summit sell jet kits for all the brands of nitrous systems. If I were you, I would pick up one of those kits. It will allow you to play with your tuning a little bit versus only having one set of jets to go off of. Plus you can call the tech line for most of the nitrous product companies and they can give you pretty good advise too.

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

dont worry a bunch of people run decent sized shots on 2 bolt 305s and 350s on here and most are fine its all in the tune. you can go on ebay i think and order NOS style jets that are sold in a group and you pick the sizes you want so just find a rough estimate calculator online or something and pick a few jet sizes you think youll want thatll help you know what size the jet is.

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

I had an old Compu Car kit on my 85 305 tpi with the 150 pills on it,no problems what so ever and I was not kind to it.Stock every thing except shorty headers, throttle body airfoil, no cat-Flowmaster. I did have a TPIS adjustable fuel pressure reg. set at 52lbs with stock injectors.

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

I started off small with 75hp, used that about 4 times, then went 100hp.

75hp
N2O=40
Fuel=31

100hp
N2O=55
Fuel=42

spend the extra $50 for a fuel pressure safty switch.

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

i could not even begin to say how many bottles went through my motor on the 150 shot! the thing you HAVE to worry about that i have not seen discussed is your tune,be certain your fuel pump is in good working order just because you have fuel pressure does NOT mean you have adequate VOLUME so an upgraded pump is a good idea(255lph)not manditory though,new spark plugs i prefer the autolite 25 gapped at .032,plug wires should be in perfect working order no arching etc. new cap and rotor.your timing should not be anything more than 12° at the crank and lastly watch very close if you plan to spray through gear shifts cause 700r4s DO NOT always shift when they are supposed to unless your tranny has been rebuilt properly this is the area where a window switch comes in handy.if you know your car shifts at say 5600 have the window switch cut the N2O off at 5400-5500...

Re: TPI & NOS Q's

ya as far as i know its just a stock pump. this is all in a 92 s10. and i like the idea of the fuel safety switch. and ill definantly look into the window switch also. i only make it out to the track maybe once a month if im lucky so it isnt gonna get sprayed that much. i just dont want to blow the damn thing up. it isnt fun takin the engine in and out of the s10.
