It also was for sale,
I dont know if he sold it but he lives in MD, Unfourtunetly Im too far away to see the car.
I messaged him on Youtube he Claims they were both real blowers but I dont think it was.
But it looks cool, cuz its a clean car.
theres a dude around here who has a Bigblock Intercooler, nitrous and a blower dual carbs and a scoop sticks over the roof.
He had light under the carbs. My dad asked "Are the light for the planes, so they dont hit it" his face
ROFL that was the funnisest thing ever lol.

Re: Just got a chub. Pic inside.
read the article - it says it was a setup run. first time out of the blocks and i would like to see it run properly set up.
and its not a fake as someone wrote - all show and no go. i would not mind running at those speeds. how fast do you run, because im no where near his times, are you?

i personally think it is pointless and ya its mostly show in my point of view when i see other cars without blowers or turbos run faster all day long. ya if he was trying to make a show car and something unique he did that but if he was going for speed he wasted his time and money

Re: Just got a chub. Pic inside.
before you bash the guy, read the discription of his vid:
"My 1970 GTO with two blowers. It's 474ci Pontiac engine with a 8-71 blower on top of a 6-71 blower. This is from the last day of being double blown. I'm going to one single 8-71 blower and going racing. The front clip was removed to make it easier to work on. The reason for the double blowers was not as a power enhancement like many ASSume. I stacked the blowers to have a car that stood out in the crowd. Most Pro Street cars were starting to blend together. If you seen one, you had seen them all. That wasn't the case with this GTO. Al someone had to say was "The double blower GTO" and people knew which car. I was told it couldn't be done, so I attempted it and it worked. It stayed that way for almost 2 years. I knew a twin turbo setup would make more HP. I knew I could have run a 14-71 blower and made more power. That wasn't the point. I wanted to be different than the other cars in the parking lot, I did that now it's time to ove on. For all those people who don't understand why, I'm not going to try and explain it to you anymore. Get over it. I didn't expect EVERYONE to love it. But you won't forget it. "

All kidding aside... It is for looks and attention. It's not a effecient system. Do a little math and you'll see that a 474cid engine with
2blowers is making very poor HP per CID.
I commend him on all the body and paint it looks like they did a nice job there. Very sharp car.
And yea... I'm only running a V6 with single turbo at 10.30's' on pump gas and a drag radial with low boost. So I'd hand him his a$$ on the track or street. And all the while getting over 20mpg and quiet as stock.
I'm just not a fan of old school cars like that anymore... If he'd have put a LS1 in there with a magnison SC all polished and a 6spd with 3:55 gears... it'd be a bad a$$ ride. And it'd be faster than it is now and get over 20mpg.. and drive it daily. Humm.. which would I rather have?

Dual blowers don't really impress me either. However, this single one does, Click Here....

Its not a big block.
That was not with twin superchargers.
Lots of lack of reading comprehension or knowledge around here.

Re: Just got a chub. Pic inside.
To be realistic, this 474 can get all the air it will ever need from the single blower; Bill knows that. With the 6-71 single blower and a mismatched previous torque converter that had a 5,500 stall, the 3,300-pound (3,500 with driver) GTO ran the quarter in 10.26 at 122 mph on motor, 8 percent underdriven, and at just 4 psi of boost, according to Bill. He recalls: "The stall speed was totally wrong for the combo, and the car was 'blowing through' the converter. As a result, the engine was bouncing off the 6,800-rpm rev-limiter chip from the 1/8-mile to the traps."
He said the engine would not benifit from the second blower.
Again... facts... not very effecient engine with one or two SC. It's just going to beat up the air more and cause detonation.
I also realize that Pontiac's from the 326 up to the 455 share the same external dementions. Once you've passed 410cid it might as well be in the big block class of engines when it comes to displacement.
I just don't care for that type of car. My own personal preferance. Why build somthing that really isn't streetable get's terrible MPG and isn't fast?
Just does not make sense to me.

Re: Just got a chub. Pic inside.
Ugh... I give up... This really is a 3d gen forum. I respect cars on our own forum.... and other forums I post in. This car does not fall in our group.
This is the one time I voiced my openion. If this had been in a 3d gen I might have chucked to myself and went on my way.
Since this is a old body pontiac with pontiac engine it's fair game.
If it's your style great!
It's definatly not mine.

Yes, some of you guys might have equally fast or faster cars than this guy. But if he pulled next to you at a stoplight, don't any of you say you wouldn't be a little intimated.

Re: Just got a chub. Pic inside.
Ive seen this car in person at the WoodWard Dream Cruise in Detroit. Very nice car, no need for such a setup tho. I asked him how much he dropped on the motor and he claims around 30k or so. Id just rather it be original, its worth more that way.

Re: Just got a chub. Pic inside.
I saw this car in person and talked to the owner during the "Cruzin Ocean City" car show weekend two and a half years ago. Its been so long I don't want to quote anything, but the owner's main reason for stacking two blowers was because he thought it looked cool and was very different.. He claimed that adding the top blower added a pretty good amount of power (over having just one or the other). I was sceptical, but the car got a lot of attention no matter what people thought.

The GTO is 2mph faster than my old 355, and about 10mph slower than a few of the guys on here.

All I can think is "sweet jebus that intake charge is gonna be hot!!!"
I commend him on the fabrication work, it's very cool looking, even if it isn't the fastest thing ever.
