These any good?

Just looking at these,

http://xs-power.com/gm-turbokits-1.htm

Are these any good? or are they useless.
Do the manifolds work? or do the mount the turbos
where they cant physically go?

Anyone know?
Not bad price if they work.

Well yea, its look a good deal, but
if those manifolds dont work, then its aint worth 10 cents.

Re: These any good?

Not long ago someone had a similar product that just popped up on the board. Maybe a year back or so. I remember they said there was something wrong with with a part of it but I can't remember what it was. May have been the size of the turbos but I'm just not sure. Before you spend the money I would definitely look for superchargers on this board and see what is previously been said about it. There's just something familiar about that website. In any event, if you live in California they're not legal here anymore.

Re: These any good?

some ppl had to modify the rear tube on the driverside to make it clear the st\eering shaft while others havent. it cant be used as a tt setup though. but it makes a very good base for building ur own y pipe to a large single turbo

if u biuy the stuff seperatly on ebay u can get the fmic for 150 bucks and the headers for another 150 -200

Re: These any good?

Thanks for he replies.
Looking at my car again, i think your right about them not working
as a twin set up,
but i noticed they do sell these single turbo ones.

http://xs-power.com/gm-turbo-manifolds-3.htm

Am i right i saying, that these are a copy of the BBS single turbo
manifolds?
Probably easier to do a single set up anyway and i'm not set
on any one idea.

Anyone fitted these ok?
I dont have A/C anymore, but do have the delete pulley,
anyone know if it clears this ok?
Someone must have used them.

Re: These any good?

i bought the twin kit from xs-power a few months back. the headers will not clear the alternator with the turbo bolted up on the pass. side or will the stock power steering brackets bolt up. i pulled the ac and heater box out but i dont think there is room for the rear tube on the pass. side. i cut and extended the headers 2in forward to clear the alternator and power steering pump. the kits will work with a little mods to the headers or just cut the flanges off and weld some v-bands on them but they are not bolt in like they claim.

Re: These any good?

Yes, i'm not surprsided they werent a straight fit,
so i wont expect the single to be either, but as long as its close,
its a good starting point and can always be modded.

One odd thing tho, how comes on the photo it shows the gaskets
with round ports on drivers side and square ports on the passenger(turbo) side?
Any ideas?

Re: These any good?

Having said all this, read on another thread somwhere that
ssautochrome have stopped doing the single turbo setup and it
is not on their site, although it is on the xs site,
but they are the same company,
so not sure if they are still avaliable for sure.
Will have to email them and see.
