i have a 1991 camaro...
bottom end is .40 over
roller cam .502 lift
heads are pretty much stock
compression is 10.1
edelbrock performer intake
msd streetfire ignition
holley 600cfm carb
i have 425hp.... my buddy just did more **** to his stupid trailblazer ss and now i need more power...
could i supercharge the motor the way it is?
if not what do you suggest for me to get more power easily...

well i do know that the heads had a three angle valve job when i had the motor done a year ago...
also the motor is a vortec motor idk how it ended up in my car but i bought it with that in it lol
if you still say no to the supercharger... any ideas on another big power adder?

You can supercharge it just fine, the problem is you final compression ratio. If you have aluminum heads you have a little room, with cast iron you are already at the upper limit. Much higher and you will need race gas, or to retard timing so much there is no point. You can pull the motor, and put in pistons with a dish, or get new heads with a bigger cc. Have you thought about No2?

N2O is the cheapest solution here that is for sure.
My buddy put 10 pounds from a turbo on his 10.5 to 1 compression LT1. But that is with reverse flow cooling and stock Al heads. He didn't hurt anything except a head gasket once.
I would say if you are really stuck on a SC then consider race gas or a meth kit and run 10 lbs on it. It would considerably increase power but then you run into more $ for fuel or having to make sure there is window washer fluid in the Meth tank.
Boost is an addiction so you will want to open your motor later and go less compression and up the boost.

when i was a kid there was a speed shop i used to go to and there was a sign on the wall - i still remember it, something about the two rules of racing.
rule 1
"speed costs - how fast can you afford to to."
rule 2
"there is no substitute for cubic inches."
the cam is a little small - even a zz4 will give you .474/.510 lift on 1.5 rockers.
get new heads
give yourself some room with the heads - and put that supercharger on - blow the doors off that truck.
and a 383 would be nice but not as nice as a 502 but that would be a bbc instead of a sbc.
