i want to re-do my setup! i have alot of questions
I am kind of new to this forum but not new to building engines or working around turbos. but this will be my first turbo carb'd car so i have a few questions so if you guys could please help that i would really appreciate that since i was not able to find alot of info on blowthrough carbs and similar stuff on here. alot of tpi.
i currently have a 355 with a eagle forged rotating assembly with domed pistons 11:1 compression rpm air gap with edelbrock 180cc aluminum 64cc heads and a cam 236/242 .560somethin @0.050 and 150shot of nos. my best time has been mid 11s. i have a built 700r4 and aftermarket suspension and 3.45 gears in a 9 bolt
I wanna go with a singled turbo and will be going with these manifolds http://www.xs-power.com/gm-turbo-manifolds-3.htm and a single T76 turbo, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GODZI...Q5fAccessories
all will go through a 12x31x3 intercooler and 3" piping. and either a 3 or 4" open downpipe
My goal this season is to go 10s so i need to know what kind of pistons you guys would recommend for my bottom end? and will a mighty demon 850 blow through carburetor work? i was thinking maybe dropping the compression down to about 8.9:1 to 9.2:1 set my magnetic pick up msd distributor to about 33* and 12psi?? what duration, lift and ls cam would you reccomend?? i read something about having a cam with similar duration (ex. 224/224) and lift of about 20-25% more than what my heads handle. so what would work decent in my application??
I want about 600 flywheel hp with my edelbrock heads.
Any help will be highly appreciated, thank you guys in advance and this is an awsome website

dont no what belt set up you have but i have been lookin and a lot of the single turbo headers hit the ac bracket, and the twins put the turbos out of the hood or into the radiator,
Re: i want to re-do my setup! i have alot of questions
yeah but that wont be a problem because i have no belt setup, just an electric water pump with an alternator on the driver side towards the bottom. these headers are like the BBSDesing ones that they used to sell
