turbo fuel injection help
hi all, I have a question on how to tune or program if even needed for a twin turbo sbc. i have everything to do the turbo setup and a couple diffenent options for the computer setup. i have a complete lt1 motor with wiring harness, i also have a complete tbi setup and an ebl computer i could run. and my last option, i have a few lt1 intakes converted that i can put on. the motor in question can be a few things. i am not to worried about that i have enough parts to put a low compresion togheter. i cant seem to find a definite write up on the computer aspet. any input would be great. thanks so much guys. sorry for the long post but i need info i am about to do the build and am stuck here

So what motor are you running? A gen one sbc with a modded lt1 intake? There are allot of options out there. TBI and the LT1 wiring harness probably wont work. What are you looking to spend?
Re: turbo fuel injection help
thats the thing, i have all those options and just want to eaiset route. i alreay have a few complete motors one being an lt1 and one being a 350 tbi with an ebl computer. but i have several pre 86 short blocks 377,383,400,327 that i could out one of my lt1 modded intakes on. i also already have the twin turbo setup. i need help on what to do with the computer. will it tell that more air is coming in and adjust automaticaly or do i need to tune. if so what is the best route to go. thanks

I don't want to sound like a jerk but this is a vary open ended question. Is the lt1 computer obd1 or obd2? The tbi would be a bad choice. Also you will need a tune no question about that. Other wise you can get a aftermarket system like FAST, Accel DFI, Big stuff. But it all depends on what you want. If your looking to go cheaper you could always get a blow through carb set up through CSI. Also check out www.turbomustangs.com. There is alot of info there. I think you have quite alot of resarch to do.
Re: turbo fuel injection help
lol any input is great, this is def an open question due to so many options. i am not sure about the obd1 or 2. the lt1 is from a 94 camaro. basicly i needed to know that i do need tune. i have looked at the aftermarket systems but i kinda didnt want to head that route. i have did a lot and lot of research but never end up in the right places, which is why i am here. Given the options i have what do you suggest. and how to go about getting a good tune to match the turbos. thanks a lot

Re: turbo fuel injection help
Ok, Let me start off by saying that I have Never turboed a V8 but MANY 4 bangers and a few 6cyls, all fuel injected, and this is my take on your current situation......If you plan on using the 94 LT1 and its ecm for it, Aftermarket fuel management is a MUST - thats one item on the list to start with, no stock N/A EFI ecm will see boost because the Map sensors for a N/A motor are not set up to see POSITIVE atmospheric pressure (boost), even so its not as simple as swapping Maps, the Ecm needs to be able to interperet the signal, so that means you need either a piggyback ecm like MegaSquirt - or a custom burn from a tuner with a laptop to interface and remap your fuel curves.....Second you will need a Wideband O2 sensor and an A/f guage, third Im not sure what injectors you have but you might want to upgrade them as well, maybe the fuel pump too - but thier may be a VERY simple solution to all of this..... just find a S/C or Turbo kit for the car that the motor/ecm came out of (94 Camaro) ad see what they use for fuel management and if you can just buy the parts you need. Of course you can Just say F it all and buy a Haltech FMU. Expensive but easy(er)............

Re: turbo fuel injection help
THANKS thats some good info i was looking for. When it comes to tuning for a turbo with a lab top is that something that a novice"myself" can handle or would i send it off somewhere and let them handle it. The last thing you stated Haltech FMU What is that exactly Thanks so much.
p.s i have an ebl computer that is programble. i have head that it is possiable to modify the tbi injector harness so that it can run an lt1 intake. An input on that would be great to
