sbc 383 w/10:1, with sn92,,will it work?
I maybe getting a 383 shortblock from a member to replace my worn 350. He told me its 10:1. I currently have a sn92 thats pushing 5-7 psi on the 350 but I know itll drop with the 383. My 3 questions are;
- will the 2-4 psi make noticeable gains with the new setup since its a higher compression motor?
-would I be better off going N/A and not have the SC putting more load on the crank pulley?
- should I stick with the CC276hr12 cam I have now in the 350 or should I go larger?
PS, I know the sn is too small and eventually it will be replaced but for the next 3-4 years its not in my budget

I say run the blower man, you have it, no reason not to!
If you have the funds to get a new cam I say definitely get one tailored to a 383 with a blower to make the most of the combo.

You will make more power sure, but how much could you sell the entire blower setup for? Could it be sold for enough to purchase a great top end for the 383? If so you could be looking at the same power either way and less strain on the crank.

Hmmm, I don't like the fact you'll not be running anything to combat the blowers charge temperature going into a 10:1 CR motor. You'll probably see 5psi on your 383, thats what I used to about average. I wouldn't mount that blower on a 10:1 motor until you have either methanol injection or an intercooler, but thats just me.
If you don't care then mount the blower and
then come back and post how she felt.
