Those With TPI/LT1 N2O Plate or Nozzle Systems Come In Please
I want to have some fun with this 305 before i put my 408 in it, and would like to build a n2o system that will transfer over to the lsx pretty painlessly. Please bear with me as i got lots of questions after doing research.
N2O and Fuel delivery
I'm pretty certain i'm going with Harris Speed Works kit and their purge kit
http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/prod...cat=137&page=1 http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/prod...p?productid=28
Seems like people like HSW over on tech for the price.
However, i'm not too sure on there actual nozzle.

Would a plate between the tb and plenum be a better choice? or does this nozzle create a pretty even dispersal of n2o in the intake? If i end up useing this nozzle, where would be the best place to mount it?
I really don't know if the plate would be worth the $200+ cost, and i'd have to buy a throttle cable bracket relo kit too.
Timing and Activation
I want to do this right the first time, so pulling x degrees of timing will be a must. I've been looking at interface controllers and hsw's microedge for a window switch and safety A/F shutdown. But i'm confused on what else these controllers do?
What have you guys done to pull timing? I don't want to retard any timing when N/A, cause right now i have the timing tables increased quite a bit, so something that will pull timing automatically when spraying will be a must.
Thanks for any help!

a plate between the TB and plenum will be better than a fogger/nozzle. I noticed my car hit harder with the plate than the fogger. The only problem is that you cannot transfer the TPI/LT1 plate to an LSx, you'd have to buy a special plate for the LSx TB...but a fogger will transfer from the TPI/LT1 to the LSx because its just tapped into the [cold] air intake track...

yea i even read there's a difference in models and how some hit alot harder than the others. Only problem with the plates...the price. For my lsx i'll use a plate for sure. When i get this hsw i'll use the nozzle.
For the fogger nozzle, where would you mount it in the intake? I was reading that if put in front of the maf, the n20 going across it will make the ecm think there is more air coming in, and will then increase the injectors putting more fuel in wich would be an added safety feature if it doesn't turn pig rich. I'll obviously be getting a wideband.
What did you do for timing HCR? I was looking at all types of control boxes, and it seems like people are split between running their nitrous company's controller, or using a msd digital 6. This is where i'm getting lost. where do these boxes plug into harness wise? how do they communicate with the ecm to retard timing when the window switch is activated?

I have a wet system and when I had the fogger, it was about 5-6inches from the TB AFTER the maf, since I didn't need the injectors providing more fuel. A wet system is always more safe than dry, mainly because our factory mafs have a limit as to how much air it can "measure" and if you are using more air (NOS) than you can measure with the maf, you'll run lean and BOOM...
As far as timing and such, I didn't use any. I've been running the 125 shot on my LB9 without any timing retarded. I use 93octane and just added a small bottle of octane booster for peace of mind. I also didn't hit the juice until after about 3k rpms (or 2.5krpms on colder days). I haven't had a problem since...

With the n20 kit itself, did you use the microswitch on the tb to engage the nitrous at wot, or did you have a manual switch that you manually pressed and held whenever you wanted to spray?

If you are running a wet kit the nozzle has to be after the MAF or you will get double fuel because the computer will add fuel also.

Thanks 3rd gen. Do you think the msd 8676 retard box will work to retard my timing when the master switch is on? I think i'd have to wire it so that the box is getting power and retarding only when the n2o master is on.

figured most of it out. hsw kit, microedge, mallory 685, aem wb.
is there any shorty style plug that'll work for n2o? i only want to got one step colder

Re: Those With TPI/LT1 N2O Plate or Nozzle Systems Come In Please
I have a step colder plug, I'm running the NGK's, but I forgot what part number. I have a microswitch at the TB AND an arming switch. I have a rocker switch inside the cabin which arms the system (turns on the relay for the solenoids) and when I floor the pedal, the microswitch is engaged and it engages the relay. What normally happens when I race, though, is that I'll floor it and go and when I get to about the desired rpm, then I turn on the rocker/arming switch. Since I normally floor it from the hole...

Could you get me the number of that spark plug? How do they fit with your shorties?

The ones I use are Part No. 2771 and say UR5 on the box... They are shorter than regular plugs so they fit just fine with the headers...

That plug is WAY too hot for nitrous though?!

I'm pretty sure thats the one I use, but I'm not 100% certain. I just searched that part number from AdvanceAuto website and it was the only NGK plug that wasn't platinum or iridium. Either way, I didn't have a problem with those and nitrous...
