I solicite your ideas

Just kicking around a few thoughts here on adding a few additional horses to my 84 T/A with a sb Chevy 400. In you guys opinion, what are the best and/or cheapest power adders out there?

nitrous if your bottom end can take it, stock can usually hold up to around a 150 shot but if it has really high miles I would be really careful as the motor has wear already from normal usage

homemade turbo kit from 2 junkyard turbos, ebay intercooler, and ebay pipes. That plus a good tune is a cheap way to add some horses. The hardest part would be fabbing custom exhaust manifolds to support the turbos

Yeah, I've been considering a little nitrous. Everything below the heads is pretty much stock, but I have very little knowledge when it comes to nitrous. I'm old school, and I'm not real fond of experimenting with a hand grenade. But the idea of nitrous is not dead with me

I'm thinking that adding a little turbo would be too expensive. Especially since I have no experience with fabricating heavy metal.

hand grenade to me = fun, it isn't as bad as you think, could always swap out to a big block too.

Re: I solicite your ideas

You could always find a shop that can fab up an exhaust manifold. I know of 3 out here in san diego that could do the job for me. This part may be the most expensive

a turbo at pick your part is about $25-30 each.

ebay intercooler. $50

pipes. $100 for a kit.

The tune is up to if you want to buy the equipment and do it yourself or send it out.

I dont know what your definition of "cheap" is but if you want a power adder its never really "cheap".

You're right about that....power is never cheap. But cheap is not really what I'm looking for. I'm just kicking around some ideas and seeing what you guys had in mind. Of course, we all want to keep it inexpensive, but very little is cheap and NOTHING is free.....except advice....LOL!

Thanks guys
