Re: B&M 144

Btw this combo is a l69 305, with 882 350 heads and a B&M 144 s/c. It should make roughly 8-9lbs of boost.

Re: B&M 144

Someone told me 350ish crank hp. I'll definitely have it dynoed here in the next month or two. It's hard to tell tho. I'm hoping to have it finished by thursday.

Re: B&M 144

Very nice. Looking good.

BTW- 4" cowl hood minimum on a 3rd gen with a 142/144 mini-blower. 2" cowl hood will be too tight to squeeze a reasonably sized air cleaner under.

I got it all to fit with a harwood pin on 3 inch and edelbrock drop base with 3inch filter.

Do you have any pics w/the hood closed from the drivers seat? Thought about doing something similar awhile back, but hood clearance always seemed to deter me though. Thanks....

Re: B&M 144

I thought the 142 was the "low profile" version and would have the best chance of fitting under a 3" cowl...guess not. Lookin good! I like how you've kept your AC...I would have too if mine worked.

I can't tell...are you still runing the CCC system with it? Always wondered if it would work well with a blower or not. After all, it does have a knock sensor to automatically back down the timing if it starts to ping.

I'd like to think you'll get more than 350 crank HP with 8 pounds of boost. The torqe numbers should be good too. Either way - nice.

Re: B&M 144

Yeah, having starting issues at the moment. Was finishing up last night in the dark. Been busy all week. Probably mixed up the plug wires. I'm gonna work some more on it today. It's an after market holley street avenger 670. I believe the CCCs will work too. The 144 is the low profile.

Re: B&M 144

She's done. Couple little things to tweak like more timing and rocker arm pecking, but runs beautifully. Definitely a stronger car from what I can tell.

Re: B&M 144

forgot about this thread due to lack of progress. The car ran good at 5lbs of boost. From what i could tell my gas milage didn't suffer, but i was already running a bigger than needed carb to begin with. Still averaged 14-16 mpg a tank. I put a 9lb boost pulley on and it ran good about twice until i had a radiator hose blow out, over heated, and blew the head gasket along with my hydraulic clutch line blowing out the same day. I replaced the head gaskets and clutch line only to somehow break my slave cylinded when i removed my drivers side long tube. replaced that with a new one. pressed the clutch in and blew out the clutch master cylinder. lol. I said screw it till it warms up. i'm at work for 11 more days. i'll probably go home and replace the master cylinder and then i'll start posting more progress. i will say this, at 5lbs boost and stock timing it gave my buddies ls1 vette a good run to 75ish mph.

Re: B&M 144

Hmmm...I wonder. My original 305HO (L69) is sitting on a stand with only around 3K on a fresh rebuild...

Magnacharged 305? lol
