Turbo Kit

So my plan in the near future is to turbo my '90 GTA and I think I'm going to run it about 10psi at most. But I was looking on ebay, I want to know if anyone else thinks if this is worth getting.

I've read around and with the 350 TPI the T70 is probably about as small as I could possibly go. (If I'm wrong, let me know lol)

Re: Turbo Kit

don't do it!!! A t3 T-70? T-3 single is to small for 350 cubes it will get snuffed out. Get a cheap turbo like a master power t-70 t4 new $475. They are cheap and will be reliable and a will support 700hp. Get a used tial 38mm gate about $150 don't buy a ebay wastegate or turbo you will jeopordize your engine when one or the other implodes or malfunctions. The one thing you can use and its been proven by myself and many others is a cheap ebay intercooler will work just fine. A set of Headers on ebay will work to you may have to cut of the flanges and just build a new y-pipe to the turbo.

Turbo new MP-70 $475
used tial gate $150ish
ebay 3 inch intercooler EDIT get a CX 24x12x4 inch intercooler new for $100
ebay headers $150ish

Re: Turbo Kit

look for one of my old treads TURBO GTA 305. I went "inexpensive" and am completely happy!!! I had the BBS turbo header for about 5 years-it was the last run he made, got a t4 t70 turbo for about $200 off ebay. DO NOT GET THE OIL LINES OFF EBAY!!!! they don't work and are crap(all fittings will be wrong). I bought ebay wastegate and blow off valve- wastegate has 7lb spring, I've seen 10-12psi. I haven't played much with the blowoff valve yet. I got it running in late Sept. so i haven't made it to the track but SHE DOES MOVE NOW. I beat a late 80's mustang with it the first time i took it out which it wouldn't do before with 2.73's in the rear. wish i could give you some numbers but that will have to wait.. here is a pic, the installed pic is too large. it's in my old thread.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Re: Turbo Kit

I'd go for it!!!! it makes for a really clean set up. I don't have a/c or smog pump, but i do have T-TOPS!

grover, we must have gotten them at the same time,, a little bit of a wait if i remember but i just got mine installed last september so it was still worth the wait. how much are you looking to get for it? never know when i'll do another one

Honestly if I could get $300 for it I would be happy. I never even bolted it to a motor.

Would a set of Hedman shorty headers be able to support the turbo kit you just talked about? I think I'll end up going the route of turbo-charging my IROC because a pro-charger cost WAY too much.
