brakes on a blow thru setup

Can I run a normal booster on my F1 blow thru setup?

I was thinking about running a cannister since I already have one. There is a check valve that should be able to stop the boost from filling the can. My cam should be good for 20" of vac at idle, (about). That fills, or empties the can, however you want to look at it, with vacuum for when I hit the brakes, This also fills the booster, like stock, also has a check valve, I think. Then I go into boost with a reserve of vacuum. When slamming the brakes I use up some vacuum and lets say I modulate the brake and gas, real fast, I should still be good since I am not in boost unless I am laying on the gas.

Logic OK? I don't want to buy a vacuum pump if I don't have to.

Re: brakes on a blow thru setup

brakes will be fine, u will never be in boost and on the brakes at the same time during driving.

the only excetion i see to this is if u footbrake to build boost on the starting line at the track.and even then there is enough vacum inside the booster to fully press and release the brakes about 3 times

i have never once had an issue with the brakes on any of my turbo cars

Re: brakes on a blow thru setup

I have a reserve vacuum can that I bought from summit a few years back. I was thinking about selling it, but I figure I won't get much for it so maybe I will run it instead. Can't hurt right? But since I am running an F1 blower I don't have a lot of room left under the hood over on the driver side so I was thinking about hiding the vacuum can in the finder or the nose someplace. Think mounting it that far away from the booster will cause issues? I really don't think it will but just wanted some other opinions.

Finally, my last question about vacuum/boost:

Can I run my brakes of the large port on the back of the carb and tee that off to the bypass valve? While running the smaller port that is at an angle to the BTM box teed off to m gauge? My FPR will be tapped directly into my EV hat.
