Ah what the hell
My best time so far with 12psi was 11.7 with like no tuning done. Went to the track the last time and picked up another 3 mph after some timing changes but had traction issues after, don't see why mid to low 11's wouldn't be possible or better with more tuning and proper slicks. This is on a 3900+Ibs race weight car at 2200' altitude track for what it's worth.

Here's a pic of the cog driven F1A on my toy...

Still need to finish the battery relocation to the trunk and get the intake piping painted to match the car or at least thermal coated so it looks better.

Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!
I heard about varying brackets through ProCharger, as some of them (possibly the v-belt setups) need hood modification because they sit too high, while the serpentine setups sit lower and clear the hood a lot easier. Can anyone confirm that, as I'm considering one for a '92 GTA I'm looking to buy from a friend...
Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!
Correct. If the kit is for a thirdgen it will fit. But you need to start with the 3rd gen D1 kit and not the P600 kit. The brackets are different and the P600 bracket will not work with a D1 or F1.

Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!
Not sure if your running a D1SC or not, but those fit fine. I believe, or was under the impression, that the F1 unit's have trouble cleaing the hood's on our cars though, and that the hood needed to be cut. If it doesn't, then that is great news then, but I just needed to be absolutely sure before I pull the trigger on a purchase. However, this here is what I didn't want to do to the hood though...

Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!

Made the new universal Vortec kit fit my car. It was relatively easy. I redrilled the holes in the mounting bracket to position everyithing 1.5" lower then reclocked the charger. Then everything fit under the hood.
I also got them to send the T-type charger from the big block kit for a couple hundred dollars more. So for less than 2500 dollars I have a brand new high HP capable blower set up.
So the motor was built for boost, but as luck would have it this happened 2 weeks after the fun began.

So I have decided to take it to the next level.

The short block is on the way, then I have some valvetrain work to do:-)

Pocket, you finally got that running? I was always wondering where that project went. What kind of power are you running? I bet that single charger is putting out more power than the duals but taking the dual supercharged one to car shows would be interesting. lol

Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!
With the amount of noise a cog belt F1A with the Procharger race valve puts out, delivering *** whoopings on the street isn't that easy. The only people that really want to try it actually can beat it. Ricers don't even bother when it pulls up next to them. It's a little too obvious there is a large blower under the hood.
That and the gas mileage is so atrocious when you floor it that I just don't drive it that often.

1. ....naw, ppl -WILL- want a piece of that "belt driven a** whoopin"
2. What do ricers know? Thats right....not a damn thing...all they know is what Dominick Torreto, and Brian Oconner have taught them.
3. Only real wrenchers know what a blower sounds like. just tellem its a noisy alternator......

4. Gas mileage.....(insert prius joke).

5. Like the saying goes....boost gets you laid.

Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!
You can mount it with procharger readable and the pulley on the underside but you will have to move the drain to one of the other ports. There should be allen plugs in it. Mine is a custom setup, the normal F body kit has the procharger mounted with the pulley on the bottom. Yours came off someone's custom setup too...or maybe a mustang, don't know. So, if you want to install it as intended by procharger, move the drain

Re: Lets see those BLOWERS and PROCHARGERS!!!
Just mount it like I did, that's the stock F body bracket. It mounts like that no problem. I did it on purpose for clearance w fans and other junk I have in there. The tensioner is a bit less efficient this way, so you'll have to install a belt that's tight with the tensional all the way down.

There is no set way to mount it, hence all the plug locations on the thing.

So wheir it says "procharger" by the pulley would be upside down....that makes no since for them to do that....
