Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
Large bend and crack just forward of motor mounts. Looked like a previous repair came undone. Car was totaled and rebuilt very early in its life before I got it, lol pre-carfax. Went to do some WOT tuning one night, all seemed normal. Next day car was leaning hard right, found damage. I'm sure it was a slow progressive thing that finally gave because it always tracked dead straight never an alignment problem, surely 12lbs boost only accelerated what was already failing.
And no, setup is not for sale. Its getting swapped into a 91 Vert

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up

FSTFBDY Fabbed most of it up. I had to tweak a few things to make the downpipe fit and in the process lost the AC, gonna make a few adjustments and see if I can squeeze AC back in by losing the serpentine setup when I swap into the vert. Turbo is a MP T70, only downfall to to the location is air filter space. Otherwise very easy to work on.

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
When i saw this setup on FSTFBDY's car i had to do it the same way or atleast close. If you wouldnt mind, could you post some pic's of under the car where the pipe runs? I want to see how it was put together down there. I will say, a very clean put togther system, if you wouldnt mind me asking, how much did you buy it for? I know its all stainless steel piping, etc.

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
I'll have to dig through my pics and see if I have anything from the underside, not sure what I have. Meant to start a build thread for the turbo setup but was kinda busy with a divorce lol. Now that I have garage space again I'll probably do a un-build thread when I finally swap it into the vert.
Can't really price it out at this point, we traded straight up my supercharger setup for the turbo setup

You guys underestimate yourself. A few good books and a budget welder will allow you to make your own kit. Just need some common sense and some basic craft skills to pull it off

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
But now ive got it up and running and the tuning is under way. Slow process but it IS working the way I thought it would. And my build came in under 800 bucks. So it all about what you can fab up yourself, and how much creativity you have. Its a learning process thats forsure. Supreme Member

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
If I ever get rid of it, it'll be replaced with twins
and you'll have first dibs Chris
The pipes separate in the middle under the balancer, and the downpipe separates just before it turns down. The turbo is basically braced by the cold side piping. Goes through a hole in the battery tray and the pipe is supported by a bracket. The whole system comes apart remarkably easy. The 2 downsides is the oil drain and the air filter. The oil drains into a -10AN hose direct to a 90deg fitting, far from ideal, in to the fuel pump blockoff plate. I do run a restrictor on the oil feed though and have had no signs of the oil backing up at all. The air filter is simply a nightmare lol. Almost have to pull the fender to get it in, that will definitely be tweaked before it gets swapped in.

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
That would be my concern with that setup. Oil draining. My turbos are now in similar location and I will be running a scavenge pump....i just dont see a way to drain them, especially the driver side.

Re: Post pics of your turbo set up
Painted the charge pipe, and added a (ok air filter set up for now) I'm very happy with what it looks and runs like for now. Not bad for making this build go from parts to running in a little under 2 months?? And its my first attempt at turboing any car.
