I know the feeling. Pulled both sides of mine in my Lumina Z34. One backing out of my friend's driveway, one pulling into the parking lot of my college after half an hour drive. That would've been a fun ride...

I'm going to start a new v3 thread of this build, and rather than have page after page of the build taking place it will just cut right to the chase and be done within the first two pages. Please let this thread die...

I had to pull the 416 heads. I got in touch with the guy I bought the old '84 project from, and he said that he always suspected something was wrong with one of the heads, he felt that one of them was cut down and one wasn't. I didn't even bother to check that when I did them, as I was so focused on so many other things. The engine ran fine with them, but just the idea of that made me upset. I already had a set of 187 heads that are now finished, and should flow the same as the 416's, without the worry of them being altered in any way. For peace of mind I really had to do that, plus I wanted to see how the pistons looked anyway, they look good...

Focus on that first gear ratio in the tranny in relation w/your rear gear ratio, hint hint...
You got lucky just like I did. Was having nightmares after that happened of running against my friend's GN on the highway and hitting a pothole, would have been a complete mess if I lost the tie rod on the highway at those speeds...

I have been doing things to the build that nobody on this website has tried yet, as well as some not even knowing could be done, and if I start posting pics in this thread it will ruin the v3 thread that I am planning. I am not trying to make this out to be special because it isn't (which is why I have been keeping quiet and avoiding this thread), as in the end it is still just an anemic 305 with a turbo and couldn't possibly compare to the infamous "LSX" engine...
