remote mount turbo for 87the l98 and mass air?
Hey all. I am in the proses of building a remote mout turbo. I have most of my parts list and will be starting the build in the next week ir so when i take my car off the road. I need to know what i can or cant do with my mass air sensor. I will be running a stock turbo off an 05 cummins because of the similar displacement. I plan at running only about 4psi to start. And maby get up to 10the psi max with a tune and msd. I have everything figured out but the mass air if i have to re pin for speed density thats fine but would like some insight. Thanks Mic.

You probably will max out the sensor with a few pounds of boost. Once you do that only way to add fuel is pe vs rpm and turbos arent really linear in boost vs rpm so i doubt it will work well.
So you can add an fmu to help with fueling, or possibly look into blowerworks maf upgrade which supposively works on stock ecm but allows it to read 600hp or more of airflow, or you can repin to speed density and run boosted code like code $59.
Its up to you

Ok i will check out that sight i think that might be the way to go. I want to get this done in a reasonable time frame and i will be on a tight budget when work gets slow... gotta love that, bust my a$$ to make money but dont have the time to play then winter comes and i have all the time in the world but dont have two nickels to rub together. Lol

Its pretty easy swap. Need to repin harness for 730 ecm and add a 2-3 bar map sensor. Buy a 730 ecm and memcal, chip adapter from moates to do the new chips. Download the files from code59.org or possibly ask around for a v8 starter bin.
