Educated guesses on power
Hey guys, I'm taking my 880 block and 906 heads in for machining soon. I've got a parts list, and would like input on it in areas needed for improvement. As well as anyone's guess on what kind of power it would make. Ok, so I'll get started. Clevite 77 bearings and arp bolts all around. Balanced rotating assembly, stock rods, flat tops. Ported and polished heads with a 3 angle valve job. Screw in rocker studs. Stock replacement rockers. Alex springs and pushrods. Stock nodular iron crank. Brass freeze plugs. Hsr intake with 28 or 30lb/hr accel injectors, lt4 hotcam, mid length headers y pipe, twin 58 tb, dyno tune. That being said, are the 400-500 eaton posi rear ends for the stock 10 bolt rear end tough enough for my build? What kind of mods should I expect to do for my 700r4? Could that power twist a shaft or split a drum? Lastly, what about the driveshaft and axles?

Re: Educated guesses on power
If porting is good could see 425 ish hp on motor. 330-345 whp my guess
You'll want a beefed up trans if you will abuse it. Probably additional clutch packs. Step up over stock, something like the stock ls1 4l60e's have which basically are same
Axles leave stock. Rear end i wouldnt spend money. Get a fresh takeout 4th gen 10 bolt rear posi from 99-02 or entire rear itself

Ok cool, but I heard the differential in the 4th gen rear ends wasn't much better

Zexel torsen ones seem better for the money imo but in reality they all will break if abused at those hp levels. However its your best bet for the $. My 4tg gen at 320 whp has been a used for years and still not gonna break that rear end
