newb considering building a turbo car

so i bought a 89' camaro for a pro street car, im starting with a 89 thats mostly stock. the 305 in it has a bottom end knocking... so i want to build a turbo 350, heres what im starting with
-sbc 350
-9.3:1 comp.
-OEM vortec heads
-comp cs xe262h-10 cam, intake .462 exhuast .469
-performer rpm air gap intake
-edelbrock 1406, 600 cfm carb
.....this is the turbo kit im thinking about, http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SBC-SMALL-BLO...-/201106684075
how would this setup work? and what would i need to change to make it work? im looing for about 500 hp, is that possible?

Is the UserID supposed to be super, or supper? Kinda feeling hungry now lol...

500-HP will be easy with a 350, it would be harder not to make that much...

Re: newb considering building a turbo car

Only thing i am not sure about is air fuel distribution on dual plane intakes when used for blow thru aps. Most go single plane but that may hurt driveability some

Also that header may need some mods to fit. See Anesthes' thread, single turbo L98 parts list and his build thread

Here's a good article using a dual plane intake, a la Ken Crocie...

Check out this sticky:
Important/Useful : Stock L98 Non A/C Single turbo parts list
anesthes

He used that header and possibly that turbo.
It should make your HP goal.
Do you already know how to modify that 1406 carb for boost?
You need a boost referenced fuel pump too.

Re: newb considering building a turbo car

I did some research on blow thru carbs.. It seems to be a fairly complicated to make my 1406 a blow thru, would I be better off upgrading my carb? And I read about single plane intakes as well, but I'm gonna attempt my performer rpm first and I can always swap it out, what torque converter should I run with this set up?
