Jaw Dropping .080 bore

Im curious as to how this happened because I know it has to be very rare. I just opened up my alleged "355" and was going to go for the 383 stroker set up. Once I got inside and was pulling internals and labeling I noticed my pistons were .080...What the hell!!! Hadnt had any heating issues and only driven around 40mi a week. Now that im wanting to "street" it its going to get some abuse...My question is how did they manage to get this done? Im wanting to run NOS...Will it hold? What C.I. is 80over? 60over is 388 right?

Re: Jaw Dropping .080 bore

If they thought they had enough meat in the cylinder walls, then they did it. Would be no problem for a bone stock daily driver or to just get the car back on the road. Would have to contact a machine shop on how useable it is for racing.

It's not even a roller cam block. Scrap it and start over.

Agreed. And while your at it if your building a power adder motor spend a few more bucks and get a dart block. And lastly, find a new machine shop. Kind of on the ragged edge on that one.
