Nos gas help?
Nos gas help?
hi i bought a Nos superpower shot kit awhile ago. its not hooked up or anything yet but i opened the bottle a few times to see if there is gas in there. well i guess there is becuz gas comes out. but my question is - like on the horsepower tv show when the guy opens the Nos bottle a whiteish/blue gas comes out and when i open my bottle just the air movement and a clear gas comes out , also i have to feed line hooked up too it , maybe when i open it the color of the gas dissaperes as it gets thru the line? yes or no? also i dont understand the wet and dry nitrus kits cane anyone explain that too me? also the guy that i bought the Nos kit from said that the bottle was 3/4 full and he only used it a few times at E-town and then i sat in his sed or garge for like a year or so, so maybe the gases have settled or sumthing? so if anyone could give me sum help thanx. later
well all I can tell you is that a wet nitrous system injects both gas and nitrous at the same time, it is self feeding, so no real mods to the fuel system really need to occur besides maybe a better fuel pump. Dry nitrous is when you aheva plate that injectos only nitrous and the driver needs to make the fuel compensation. I am going to go with the wet system because I don't wanna f*ck with loosing a brand new motor over leaning out cuz of juice. Think of the wet system as yer little insurance policy, but I still would be weary, U can still mess stuff up. and the bottle porlly does have juice in it, but some of it evaporates over time, so it just needs to be purged, don't worry bout that until it is on the car tho. good luck

nitrous bottles when full are mostly full of nitrous in a liquid state. nitrous is a liquid only when contained under pressure or chilled to 200+ degrees below zero at no pressure. there is a siphon tube in the bottle that goes from the valve to the floor of the bottle it is bent near halfway down to stick in the corner of the floor and the side. this is why bottle orientation (placement) is important. this bent is towards the side of the bottle where the outlet on the valve is and opposite the side where the label is (as an industry standard). so when the bottle is mounted, try as best as possible to have the top of the bottle towards the front of the car and the bottom towards the rear. also mount it at about 15 degrees from level with the valve on the high end. last but not least with the label up and the valve nozzle (opening) down. this will give the bottle the proper attitude for the liquid in the bottle to get to the plate or nozzle and turn to a vapor or gass there instead. as an way to check you should weigh the bottle it is usually marked with a "full" weight, which is usually around 25 lbs for a 10 lb bottle and 32 or 33 lbs for a 15 lb bottle.

As far as I know NOS gas is clear. I've never seen a bluish hue to it. I'm not sure what TV show your talking about, but maybe they just added the coloring in there for show?

I saw the episode you speak of and yes I believe they used some "mood lighting" for dramatic effect
So the clear gas that comes out is the nitrus? also i have another question about that blow down tude or the safety blow off cap, where do they go? i have like one idea where they might go , like on that spot where its like a stub with i think its 4 holes on it like on the side of that stub. so if any one could help thanx
Since F-bodies have no trunk the bottle should have a blow off tube attached to vent nitrous to the outside. This is a safety precaution. In the event of extreme bottle pressure the safety valve, currently attached to your bottle, would release the N20 into the cabin of the car causing you to pass out...
You need to find a place that can refill your bottle. (Speed Shop) order the new blow off tube/valve from them. When your bottle needs to be refilled have them intstall the new blow off valve and tube. All you need to do is drill a hole in the floor
N20 is white, crack open the bottle in an open area.
