Dropped the motor in this weekend, Pics inside!

Like the topic said, I finally put the motor in, and had a few pics to share with you guys. I hope to have it running in a few weeks, I'll post updates, and hopefully some dyno #'s soon.

How do you keep the [extremely] large amount of power together?

Give us some engine specs!

Thanks for the compliments guys. The motor is a stock block, with all forged internals, the block has been splayed with billet steel caps, and it has been half filled. Total 355ci. The heads are the Pontiac 867,that have ben fully ported by Indy Cylinder Heads. The intake is a Victor Super Junior, (to accomidate for the tall port heads) modified for fuel injection, topped off with an Accufab 90mm t/b, and 83 lb/hr injectors. I am using the Speed Pro efi to handle the engine management. This is all backed by a th400 with brake, a KTRE 12 bolt, And the SPOHN tq/arm.
The chasis is setup with a PA tubular k-member, a-arms, and coilovers. I chose the Koni SPA-1 struts. I am running Aerospace brakes, and have converted to manual brakes. I am also running a Flaming River manual steering box.
89procharged-the headers were a piece of cake. I put the motor in by myself, and it all seemed to fall into place. I did not need to cut the flange, or remove any tubes. And these are the 2" I am however running a remote oil filter setup.
Sorry to ramble guys, this is the first time i have posted anything about this setup. If you have any questipns, feel free to ask.

Cool

you probably didn't have to because of the k-member. You have the same setup as i do as front suspension goes...how do you like the coil over setup?

i have yet to buy mine but my k-member and a-arms were built for them

Also, guido isn't going to be going that fast....he's too scarred too

you'll all be chasing me anyway once i get done

watch out for the little guys

prochargedroc, I was just messing arround with Guido, and I believe I am the little guy here. It is good to see that there are some third gen's out there that plan on putting up some big numbers this year. We have to show the 4th genners what's up!
As for the Coil over setup, I like it, but see myself bottoming out the shocks in the near future. There is onlt about 2" of travel before she will bottom out . We'll have to see wat happens.

You will be faster than me Don but I will be trying to catch up. I plan on about 100 less HP than you.

We will show some of those 4th genners what is up though.

That looks fantastic!!

I'm just wondering what compression ratio you have with that motor and how much boost you plan on running.

Also, screw giving us a dyno sheet. I want to se videos of this beast.

The static compression is 9.3-1. I plan on running about 20psi, maybe a little more.

question on that setup for Blownbird and Guido:

how much taller is that intake with the elbow and the accufab than stock? it doesn't look like a stock hood would be even close to clearing.....how much extra room do you think is needed?

i'm gonna go a similar route with the same intake as guido, but i'll use the accel elbow, and a twin nostril 58mm TB. At least that's the plan for now... But i need to know how much extra underhood room i should plan on making.

Also, blownbird, are you gonna custom make the intake stuff yourself to go from the charger up to the TB?

i havent fit a hood on my car yet but its going to need to be a tall hood. Probably at least a 4" to clear the top of the TB and the tubing that runs to it.

You will definately need at least a 4" cowl to clear the intake. I have a 5.5" cowl hood for mine (NMCA/NSCA legal). I will be making the custum discharge tubing soon. I am running a Spearco liquid to air intercooler, so it won't be a direct rout to the throttle body. I will post some pics as soon as the piping is complete.

Saturn5, sorry, but i cannot give the cam specs. I gotta keep something secret 91fbirdgta, the element you are seeing is a canister that is vented, it is used to trap oil form the vacuum pump that evac's the crankcase. I had used it before instead of a breather on the valve cover. It is a moroso piece, and can be found in Jegs or Summit.

thanks for the info

Do you think they will fit using the PA Kmember(stock type manual box and solid motor mounts)? How low do they hang down from the ground?

info on heads?

Could you give me a idea about the flow #'s of your heads? Mid to low 300's on the intake, mid to low200's on the exhaust? I am thinking about changing heads. I really don't know that much about the 867 heads? also you did the bungs on the intake and builts the fuel rails? what size are they?

Thanks for any onfo.

the k-member will give them more room actually

also you will need to run header adapters unless your heads have a spreadport exhaust pattern.

You will also need to run a ministarter and remote mount the oil filter

The collectors are slip on....here are a few more pics for you:

Thanks for the compliments guys, 89Procharged is right, they are Headman Hustler headers. They are about $800.00 uncoated. My headers are the 2" primary with 3.5" colector.
As for flow #'s on the heads, well......I don't think so.
