Installed my D1SC last night! I have a couple questions!

I installed my D1SC last night it fits great but I have a few Questions for those of you that know any thing about this setup!
It fits great and looks like it's in there the right way but my question is, the dipstick is not directly on top it's more to the driver side, it's coming in from an angle. is this normal or O.K.?
My other question is, in the instructions it shows a D1 and the mounting bracket only has 2 pulleys on it, my bracket has 3? How do I run my Belt??
also the pulley closest to the crank pulley is only about half an inch from the crank pulley, is that normal or O.K. ?
I'm going to mount my intercooler today and I noticed the mounting bracket on the center of the intercooler is broke off the intercooler! is that o.K. How hard is the install going to be?
Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

Tom answered correctly. The idlers always run on the outside of the belt.

It's okay. The IC's weight is primarily supported by the two side brackets.

How hard is the install going to be?

It's very simple. By far the hardest part is deciphering ATI's instructions. In fact, don't even use them because the pics are very misleading. I tried using the instructions and could not figure out how to hang the IC. I then decided to do it intuitively and got it mounted in ten minutes. I discovered to mount it correctly, the two hard plastic black blocks (for lack of a better term) on each side had to be removed. One IC side bracket uses the same bolt hole as one of the black blocks. The other side was offset somewhat from the other black block bolt hole, but there was another hole in the body that I used.

I also discovered that the 3-inch tubing (the one with the surge valve opening does not line up with the IC inlet. The supplied 6-inch length of rubber hose is not long enough. To compensate, I had to purchase a 9-inch length -- it covers the distance, but the two pieces do not align -- there is a slight "bend" in the rubber tubing.

IMPORTANT!! If you got a 12-rib belt with your system (I understand the D1SC now gets the 8-rib belt), it is imperative that you check belt alignment before starting the car. Although it will appear to be aligned, several of us that were the initial buyers of the D1SC kit for third gens had major problems with belt throwage. If you need specific details, please post here.

yes belts will tear the hell out of everything just look at this car. it sports a fashionable broken radiator support. look what we did to gain more space and this is just an 8 rib. the more ribs a blower kit has, the more i cut down the radiator hose and the radiator inlet. that piece of chrome pipe is a 1 1/4" x 6" piece of chromed/brass pipe. it is sold as an extention to the undersink drain trap at hardware store. it looks professional and clean, and keeps a bouncing belt from cutting the hose and a blown or thrown belt from ripping it off, it can get pretty violent at full boost. I have even seen radiators taken out by errant belts.

....look what we did to gain more space and this is just an 8 rib. the more ribs a blower kit has, the more i cut down the radiator hose and the radiator inlet.

This is one method. I thought of doing it this way but decided (at least for the time being) to take another approach. Cut off the hose "guide" off the top radiator support. Cut the hose at the radiator inlet so the "elbow" is as close to the radiator as possible. This keeps the hose snug against the radiator support and parallel to the blower belt. As additional insurance, I used two wire ties. This is the way it looks with a 12-rib blower belt:

It's not as close as it appears. I have at least 1/2-inch of clearance between the hose and belt.

What kinda hood are you using? that intake tract on top of the plenum is very interesting...I would just like to see how it looks together...

The top of the air box fits into the raised area and is sealed (not airtight but good enough) to the hood with the weatherstripping around the perimeter of the box. The hood is a Glasstek 2-inch cowl induction hood. From inside the car, all you see through the cowl intake is the air box.

I have confirmed inlet air temperatures as being only five degrees above ambient through a digital air temperature gauge I have mounted in the air box. It sure beats ATI's cone filter that is suspended directly over the driver's side header. Can you imagine the inlet temps on ATI's setup???

I guess i'll throw in one more pic, it's of my 12-rib set-up D1sc, i left the hose "guide" in place to kinda protect the hose from belt flex.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I got it all on and figured out now I'm waiting for ATI to figure out what their doing and get me the right pulley, and belt.
