150hp shot Wet ok with forged pistons and bigger ring gap?
So I'm getting impatient with my LS3 Stoker build as parts are taking forever. So in the meantime, I'm thinking of putting a NOS 05151 kit on my TPI L98 that has milled L98 heads (milled 0.010" for 10.05:1 compression), Speed Pro Forged pistons with 0.020" Ring gap (was planning on maybe putting a D1SC on this so I gapped the rings bigger). Its a 355ci and has SLP 1 3/4" headers and a Comp Cams 210/220 @ 0.050", .500/.510, 114 LSA cam. I have an EBL Flash P4 with the car tuned nearly perfectly (as good as I can without a dyno and just doing 30-80mpg Dragy runs) and have my timing and fuel maps pretty dead on. No knocks at WOT except sometimes I get 1 degree of KR at around 3200-3800 RPM that decays fast. I have a ProBuilt Stage 3 700R4 with a non lockup Continental converter with a 2400 stall I believe.
You think this motor will handle 150 shot ok? Should I run more? I'd like to sell this engine if its good shape by the time the LS3 is done but if I grenade it I won't be super sad. Or should I spend $200 and buy a set of AFR 195cc Street heads?
Car runs 14.0 on the street with a 2.4 60 ft and 13.6 at the track with a 1.9 60 ft.

Re: 150hp shot Wet ok with forged pistons and bigger ring gap?
I ran that NOS 05151 kit on my 305 TPi for 6 years. I used mostly the 100 shot, but occasionally would put in the 150 jets. Probably went through 20-25 full nitrous bottles during that 6 year timeframe, mostly just having fun on the street. The engine was bone stock, so cast everything. Lived plenty fine until I needed more power and pulled the engine out in the winter of 2019 to put in this 406 sbc. I now use some parts of that nos 05151 kit on my current nitrous system in this car. The solenoids are still in use to this day. Just yesterday I put the 175 hp jets in the car and ran at the track. I will type that update in my own build thread; hint.. it was fun and fast!
I am no engine guru by any means, but a 150 shot should be fine for your setup. Retard the timing appropriately. use proper fuel octane, and a colder plug. Start withthe 100 shot, then maybe 125 then see if 150 is good.
