Alright guys, this is my project. Go easy on your criticizing.
1991 Z-28 Twin Turbo
385 cu. in. Billit 4 bolt Caps /all oil galley's trued and enlarged
all forged internals w/ 6.0" rods
Brodix port & pollished Track 1's w/ 1.6 roller rockers
Accel Super Ram w/ 1000 cfm TB
55# (83's soon) Accel injectors
Milidon Gear Drive
Solid Roller Cam w/ spring loaded lifters (for cam changes)
Banks Manifolds w/ Turbonetics turbo's
TKO Tranny w/ Lakewood
Built to the max 10 bolt (going to 9" or 12 bolt)
Jegster Torgue Arm, Edelbrock Frame Connectors & Trailing Arms
Lakewood Parn Hard Rod
Wheels Billit Saber's 17x9.5,17x11
Tires BFG Comp T/A 275/40,315/35 , 2nd set 17x11 Drag Radials
As you can see the car was hit in the front and they didn't match the paint very well. But the car is straight and drives great. The interior is in mint condition. It was an automatic when I bought it but I put the TKO in it and still looks like it came from the factory as a 5-speed.
Things left to get:
Intercooler and Plumbing (in the works now)
Down Pipes (in the works now)
9" or 12 bolt........haven't decided
Drive shaft from Spohn
Waste Gates (next month)
The attachment is only holding one file so.........Wait....My pics are too big so I'm not sure what to do. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Sorry

Im leaving work in about 10 minutes though. Im going to try and stick them on disk and take em home with me and post them from there but not sure if I will get to it.
Looks good though!!!

Hey Guido, 4 of the pics got rejected due to space on your end I think. If you want the other 4, let me know when you have the space. If I set my camera on a worse resolution would they come out smaller?

The manifolds I bought from some turbo place in Washington. It was a couple years ago so I can't remember the name. They said it was the last set. Skulte directed me to them so he might remember who they are. The shop is looking at the car this weekend to make sure he can get the down pipes past the motor and all the other crap. That same shop will be doing the intercooler and plumbing. I'm sending the other photos to Guido now. I'v already made them smaller but I can't seem to upload more than one at a time.

I have two PT-52's I'd like to get coated - who did the thermal coating on the turbine housings? Did you disassemble the turbo's and just send them the turbine housings?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Actually thats just a 2500 degree paint that I used just to keep everything from rusting. There is a place here that does the Polydyne coating that I'm planning on taking everyting too once its all fabbed up. Turbonetics offered to do it before they sent them to me, but I had a brain fart that day.

I was thinking of using HPC. They have a coating which is good up to 2500F that they recommend for turbo housings and turbo manifolds. Only thing is that they only offer that coating in black or greey, I'd prefer to get it coating with a high-luster silver (almost chrome looking). The headers are .065" (16 gauge) 321 stainless steel, which typically takes on a gold hue after they've been burned in.
Just visited you site and I"M JEALOUS. Anyway I had some of the high luster on my 500 HP 406 stainless headers and they quickly went to a dull gray. So I'm just going to go ahead and go with the black probably. The polydyne coating I was talking about is supposed to be a high luster finish and stay that way but I'm not sure what kind of heat barrier it would have.....I'll call them today and find out. If it sounds promising then I'll let you know if you like. And again, Nice motor Monty.

Thanks guys.
Lil Qik, yes, I would appreciate it if you let me know what they say. I would think most of these coatings are pretty similar though.

It's funny you should post now Monty, I just got off the phone with them. The only luster coating they have for the high heat condition like that is a gold irradescent color according to him. And he says you can't hurt that stuff but I don't want that color. He's also got Black and Gray ofcourse and then a satin silver which to me sounds like gray. But anyway it's 50 bucks a turbo and 50 bucks per manifold and 75 per header. And according to him it has a better heat barrier resistance that Jet Hot. He said he has examples there. I'll go friday and take pics so you can see if you like..........oh, and yes the turbo has to be disassembled prior. Let me know what you think. He also has a better coating that the powder coat that you see on my intake above that is a whole lot more durable and shinier, like chrome. So I'll probably be taking all my stuff to him because he seems to me giving me pretty good prices.

Very nice picts.
What timing cover is that? I'm looking into getting a 2 piece TC cover and I like the look of that one.
I want a two piece to change cams with out too much dismanteling. That's why I'm looking into a 2 piece that doesn't require removing the balancer.
I can't tell but does that cover have a hole for checking the cam end play with the cover on?

That's a Milidon gear drive. Typically you won't have to remove the cover with it but I'm using the larger Fluidampnr. But there is no hole for checking cam play. Thats one of the reasons I went with it though is for easy cam swaps. I also put the spring loaded solid roller lifters in the motor so I wouldn't have to take off the intake.

Wow that sounds cool. If I heard of this before I sure forgot about it.
Are those availible for stock hyd. roller lifters? Who makes them?
Is your block a stock roller block?

I don't want to sound too stupid, maybe it's a dumb idea. But when plumbing an intercooler (or two) for that setup, wouldn't an easy way (that wouldn't interfere with the radiator) be to get a ram air hood and just somehow mount it to receive all of that air? It could be a matter of aesthetics, but still....
Maybe i'm not totally thinking about all the physics behind turbocharging (something i'm not too knowledgeable about)

Hey LIL QIK,
What revs are you shooting for? 7000+ ???
I'm thinking about a solid roller too, my TT - IR setup.

Oh, and you're defenitely going to run full synthetic oil right?
I see you have cork gaskets... w/ synthetic oil they'll leak for sure!

Monty,
Why not coat the housings w/ Cermakrome?

Well as far as running a different hood, I had thought about that route but I only like one aftermarket hood and it would provide what I needed. Plus I was worried about the underhood temps keeping the intercooler too hot.
As far as the rpm's FAQman, Yes I was looking for the ability to go 7500 rpm's if necassary. The cork gaskets were just to provide cushion for the valve covers while sitting in the room. Come start up time, Yes I will run synthetic (thats all I run new) and yes both the oil pan and the valve covers will be the blue rubber type.
As far as the Cermakrome Coating, Ihaven't heard much about it. Would you care to in-lighten me.

The cermakrome is a coating that can be applied w/ brush, then heated and polished to a shine w/ a wire brush.
It's made by http://www.techlinecoatings.com they have all sorts of coatings, even for heads & pistons.

Yea, I already bought the new coolant reservior, new washer bottle, and master cylinder revervior......all brand new. I just haven't mounted them yet because the motor is coming back out to get the engine bay painted and put the tubular K-member and rack and pinion in. I just set the motor in so it could get ready for plumbing. Thanks for the suggestion though. Hopefully everything I'm doing will make my thirdgen look like something special. Kinda make people go
