Procharger carb hat recommendation
Procharger carb hat recommendation
I'm building an 86 IROC with a gen 1 400 stroked to 420. I am using the Holley super sniper EFI to feed it. The "carb hat" that came with the kit fits the top of the sniper but when I rotate the hat it hits the fuel lines which are slightly different when compared to a regular old 4150 dbl pumper. For reference it is the "Tallboy" cover.
To me the simplest fix is to buy a carb hat that clears the sniper fuel line placement. Any recommendations?
The less simple fix is to space underneath the hat until it clears. Roughly 1" should do it. Does anyone make such a spacer? Or will I be making one?
The least simple way would be to grind and machine the original for the needed clearance. Maybe heat it and lightly reshape it with a mallet
Thanks... And I appreciate any and all suggestions

Re: Procharger carb hat recommendation
I figured this one out on my own. Turns out a carb to air cleaner spacer is a pretty common item and the Sniper is same size as any basic carb. I never even heard of one till earlier. Probably because I never had the need.
